I’ve had my 2024 Premium with extended battery for one month. Purchased with 830 miles on it. I have never seen range indicator at north of 274 in a combination of local and highway. Shouldn’t it at least sometimes show 300 as advertised?

Posted almost daily. Reset your EV driving history. The Guess-O-Meter forecasts your range based on history.

You can get the advertised EPA range if you drive the same way the EPA did during the test.

It’s no different than whatever car you had last. To be the advertised EPA fuel economy, gotta drive like they did for the test.

The “range” on the dash is also like your last car- based on how you drive.

The difference (if your last car was gas) is that highway is worse for range than city (opposite of your last car).

Thanks for the response. I just wanted to make sure I was not unique and I also want to verify that at least some people are getting the advertised 303 range.

The EPA range estimates on a BEV are a bit optimistic to begin with. The testing they use is not particularly real world. Reset the trip meter as @RickMachE suggested and give it a bit of time to learn how you drive. The guess-o-meter also heavily weights your last bit of driving in making its estimates. Thus, if you were freeway driving at high speeds, it lowers the range guess. If your last bit of driving is significantly uphill, it assumes that’s going to continue. Use the estimate as a reasonable guess and nothing more.

2024 Premium AWD with extended range - I have, a few times, driven 270 miles on a single charge with some 40 miles range left on GOM. The drive is mostly low 60s MPH and it was around 80F. The advertised 300 mile range is, IMO, reasonable. Of course, most highway miles are 70+, so the conditions are a bit "optimistic"/"optimal", but not far fetched.

Just back from first road trip in my 2024 RWD ER premium. I charged to 100% a couple of times and the range guess was over 300 both times. Last time was 316. That range guess was in warm, 90 degree weather.

What makes this even more of a pain is that with ICE cars they report both the city and highway range, but for EVs they are reporting one number. That means that they have still do that same testing with both conditions and maybe even throw in some different temperatures.

So, you don't even have those separated out, let alone the differences for driving aggressively opposed to "old man smooth".

In the city with RWD we get about 4.4 kWh per mile, on the highway doing a constant 70 mph it is about 3 kWh per mile.

It is easy to figure out what the EPA number really means. Just take the EPA number and divide it by the kWH of the battery. So, for the extended range AWD you have 300 / 88 = 3.409... kWh per mile. That is what you need to see to get the same range. You can use the trip app to look at this.

Note that people call the state of charge mileage number the GOM (guess o meter) for a reason.

And, remember you are not ”getting” a range of 300 miles. It is just an estimate from the GOM, not your range. 😁🐩

A 100% charge (which I only do before a long trip) shows about 330 mile range It never actually gets this but I do get close to 300. I keep the speed at 69 max and lower obviously where speed limits are lower.

What is the battery percentage when you drive close to 300 miles? I don't make too many road trips but when I did, I never got it below 15%.

I'm guessing you have the rear wheel drive model? I regularly get the EPA range showing up on my AWD (270mi) but that's because my wife drives it in town most of the time. It drops if we take it on a highway road trip, then bounces back through the week.

We have a 2023 GTPE and I have gone from Whisper drive to engage and back and never got a charge that exceeded 260 miles considering last charge guesstimate.
It was actually going down slightly with every charge it seemed.

Well, I have been driving in Unbridled mode only for 2 months and the charge mileage has come up to 286 after a month of Unbridled only.
I know that doesn't sound like a big diff but, 10%
Ford Mustang Mach-E Range 716
is no joke.
Going to use Unbridled Extend Oct 1 st and see if it continues to increase.
I have 14,000 miles on car if that matters.
I drive the same road all the time so its not that.

One thing that impacts range is tire pressure. If you set the tires to be 4psi higher than the factory settings, you'll experience better handling and higher mileage, albeit a slightly firmer ride. This is one of the first things they tell you at a Defensive Driving Course. Manufacturers have settings that are tuned more to ride comfort than performance, so it's a good idea to bump the pressures up.

Also, don't forget to check your tire pressures at least at the start of every season (at minimum). Tire pressure changes by about 1-2 PSI for every 10°F (5.6°C) change in temperature. It is more pronounced at higher temperatures.
