In addition to your history, it will also look at the outside temp in your area with connected data.

It will be very important for you to plug in to a 240V charger as much as possible in those temps so the battery stays warm. Heating the battery will increase the range.
Should probably also note, the Guess-O-Meter doesn’t really care what temperature your garage is at. It’s trying to predict based on the weather you’ll be driving in. It knows if it’s cold outside and the temps that your past drives have been in. The heated garage will keep your battery capacity up, but the car still knows it has to go out in the cold.
Thanks for the replies, I didn't realize exactly how much integration goes into the guess-o-meter which is actually very interesting. It all makes sense.

Will having a 110v (normal plug-in) be enough just to warm everything at negative temps? Not necessarily charge.. but just to help precondition without directly relying on the battery..

Haven't gotten to experiment very much, I refuse to drive my Mach-E without getting my PPF on first. We don't use salt up here, it's only gravel on roads and highways. Salt brings the Moose out!

No, you need a 240V charger where you live. The heater requires 5-6 kW and a 120V charger only delivers about 1 kW so the charger won’t be able to keep up with the heater. As a result the battery will not get heated properly and you will have severe range limitations. Call an electrician and see if you can get a 240V NEMA 14-50 outlet installed ASAP.

And do remember, the Guess-o-Meter is just that…a really wild, hairy-assed guess. It’s also usually pretty conservative with the hopes you’ll be pleasantly surprised that you made it to your destination instead of being mad that you’ve been left on the side of the road. Yeah, a standard range battery is going to be a little small when the cold hits hard, but it won’t be as small as the GOM would have you believe. The interior climate does make a big difference to battery too; if you can get by with the residual heat from the garage plus your seat heaters you’ll see much better numbers in reality.

TL;DR - You’ll usually get much more actual range than the GOM would have you believe.

The GOM doesn’t take into account elevation change. I significant up hill trip is one case where the GOM won’t be conservative and actually could get you in trouble.

Was only asking because my work parking lot has outlets installed at every spot, just wanted to know if it would be able to precondition at all on those. I have a full hardwired 240v Lv2 set up in my garage with 80A service.

Quick update for anyone wondering about charging sub 20°F (was -3°F this morning, now 15°F) using only 120v wall outlet - and parked outside... and yes, my MME preconditions just fine.
