Do you mean remove the styrofoam piece in the lower area? It has two fasteners that you unscrew and the assembly lifts up.
I've used so many different types over the years trying them all out but usually end up with Dynamat. Their butyl rubber is thicker than most and same with the aluminum foil. The paper backing you have to remove to expose the sticky side is thick and easy to peel compared to many others that sometimes can be a pain. It is a bit more expensive but I usually buy it on Amazon. After I use Dynamat, I cover it with Dynaliner foam. I buy 1/8" and 1/4" and use either one depending on the area I am covering.

Every single vehicle I get within the first week I rip apart and completely deaden it. The Mach-E was fairly easy as I did not have to do the roof (mine is glass) or the floor since the battery is under it and does not allow road noise to come through. The doors, rear cargo floor and rear quarter panels are completely covered. While it does make a difference in quieting down the car, I mainly do it for higher quality audio. The sub is in the rear and having all of those bare metal panels causes rattling and the bass ends up sounding muddy. The door speakers are greatly improved with less vibration in the doors and the inner part is deadened with foam so no reverberation going on inside there. The speakers sound more tight and punchy.
The Mach-E had the most factory sound deadening of any car I have taken apart and there was not as much of a difference in quieting down the car as others. I test the car on three different road surfaces. A rough road going about 30 mph, a smooth road going 45 mph and on a smooth highway going 65. I only seemed to get about a 2db noise reduction but again, I mainly do it for improving the audio system. I was able to reduce road noise by 3-5 db in my Escape, Focus RS and GT500. I didn't take any photos when I deadened either of my Mach-E's as I am done taking the same photos of doing this over and over and posting but I can share a few photos of when I did this on my other cars. You get the idea....
