Does the ford site still show your recall status as incomplete after you get the OTA update or the dealer has updated the recall updates

Dealer did my recall yesterday. Ford website and FordPass still say incomplete.

Not sure how fast they update their database.

Fed recall site will always show a recall.

Ford will eventually show it complete.

The dealer did my recall fix 3 days ago and now the Ford site says “no recalls” for my VIN. So it must update eventually.
Thanks, so it probably takes around a few days. Perfect

I did mine over the weekend and it still says there is a recall on the car, even though FDRS shows no module updates available.

We don’t yet know if it will ever clear after a DIY update with FDRS.

Why wouldn't it? It's a software fix, so if their database shows the software modules have been updated, it ought to clear.

Is it something that requires a dealer with special access to check a box?

Even if so, wouldn't the OTA clear it when it's pushed?

Yes, we all think it should. But there has been no evidence yet that it does. I updated mine about a month ago, and it still hasn't cleared.

The OTA cleared it for me. Obviously, there’s something else that needs to be done that can’t be done by an “outsider” in FDRS. Hopefully, the flag gets flipped soon (via an OTA attempt?).

The OTA updates take the extra step of filing a clear on the recall. The dealer has to “check the box” after performing the recall update. FDRS does not do this automatically as far as we are aware. ?‍♂??

The strategy with OTA updates for modules that are already up to date seems to have changed at some point. Early on, the OTA would still try to install, but would fail if the module was already up to date. But for a while now, OTAs don't even queue for modules that have already been updated (which is better in general). Ford obviously has the ability to check their database and clear the recall flag on all cars that have the correct versions installed, but who knows when they'll get around to that (if ever).

It took a month for the windshield recall to clear for me. I got the latest recall via OTA before I received the notice in the mail. I'm sure it will clear eventually
