Recall Windshield.

So I finally got an appointment to get the windshield and panorama windows on my 2021 Mache done. Of course while they were removing the windshield they broke it and and guess what!!! They are on back order !! What is wrong with Ford these days? My dealership was suppose to call me when they could do my recall two years ago and never did. Now my Mache is sitting for two weeks in a body shop with no idea when the windshield will be available. This is unacceptable.
and don’t get me started on the issues with a 2022 F150 and the buy back program. And a year to order a new one.

Back when the windshield recall was started, part of the process was to keep replacement glass on-hand for exactly your scenario. Guess they aren't doing that anymore.

Yes have a loaner. Seems it states 35.00 a day and that doesn’t include gas. ?

Guess they don’t. Since service had no idea if the ETA.

They have never done that for the recall, mine got broken two years ago and it took 3 weeks to get fixed. The first replacement that showed up, took two weeks, and it was broken when it arrived.

This is an important point ^^^
Definitely make sure they take care when installing the replacement. If that coax cable is pinched at a tight angle, it will not function. There are threads on here explaining the problem and show pics of how the cable angle should / should not look.

Some dealers did do that, but it was never required.

Yes, some dealers' MO is we're not happy till you not happy.

Ask the dealer for the part number and call other dealers around you. Or straight up call your dealer's parts department and speak to them DIRECTLY and ask them to see if other dealers have stock they're willing to part with since most dealers have been smart and keeping stock on hand.

This type of issue is exactly why I've never had that recall done to my 2021 Mach-e. Do the folks on here know of any actual instances with the windshield or pano glass coming off? I obviously don't want that to happen, but I also don't want a dealer messing up my car performing a recall for something that should be done at the factory/assembly.

I would never do it ! Never heard of anyone losing their windshield.
