There have been a number of weird things happening in the good ol' MME over the past week or so.

Last Friday the main screen went dark. It worked when I started the car, then showed the backup cameras as I pulled out of the garage, then went black when I went into drive. AC worked, Waze gave me a vehicle on shoulder warning over audio through Android Auto, and when I shifted into reverse the camera showed up. Turned the car off and restarted, no effect. Was taking the kids to school, so didn't sit and troubleshoot. Parked when I got home, and later that day it worked fine again.

Saturday the car was in Engage rather than my regular Unbridled. Switched it, and all was fine.

Yesterday, it was in Engage again, so I switched to Unbridled. The drive mode changed (steering, throttle mapping and suspension all did their thing). However, the driver's display did not change - the little screen showed the Engage graphics. Multiple changes back and forth between modes, the drive would change, but not the screen. I also got terrible braking scores in the low 70's, even though I never touch the brake (maybe 2PD is more efficient!).

Today, driving around in Whisper mode (variety being the spice of life, after all), it wouldn't change out of the graphics. I touched the brakes once when the car in front of me jumped halfway out into an intersection then stopped, so I was going maybe 5 mph, and the braking score dropped to 59%. For all my recent drives FordPass shows me at 98-99%.

I plan to do a reset and I have to check if the recent OTA is hung up or something, but I haven't gotten any notifications around that. Any one of the things I'd just call a glitch, but taken together like this it's a little worrisome.

Anyone else having a flurry of gremlin attacks?

Same here! Just crazy! I add one sitting in the car with phone and app open and car just starts alarms and no key warning and would not shut off. This morning had no problems. This computer in this car either is being tampered with by an outside source like Ford system was hacked or the software has so many bugs it just goes crazy.

Recently I got OTA 3.5.3 and 3.5.4, this morning car charged only to 75% when it's set for 80% , and it was indicating I drove 18 miles when I just drove 1 mile.

No stuck OTA, I'm still on 3.6.1.
We'll see how she behaves in the morning.

Ford Mustang Mach-E Recent computer gremlins 1673557306695

Oh dear. Experienced no loss of power, so it's not entirely acting like a heebiejeeby. It also cleared after I got home (and backed into the garage) and turned if off and back on again. Still, have an appointment to drop it off first thing tomorrow am. I'm hoping it's another gremlin attack, but it's a faint hope...

IF your HVBJB is failing, the 12v battery voltage can drop to the point the computer freaks out.
Did you happen to check your 'sleeping' voltage of the 12v system?
Do you have your own ODB2 reader to check error codes?

Oof-
No
I don't - I do have a multimeter so perhaps I can check #2 at least?

Since the thread is titled “Computer gremlins”, I’ll add mine.
Last night during a drive, 1PD shut itself off. No messages. I noticed no regen as I approached a stop light and no 1PD icon. As soon as I hit the brake pedal, the 1PD icon lit back up and it‘s worked ever since. First time I‘ve had this happen in over 19,000 miles. Car has received no updates since November.

Other gremlins I've noticed just recently:

Track forward doesn't work on the steering wheel in Spotify through Android Auto (plugged in) for a while. Android Auto/Spotify is weirdly laggy, too, but this is the only external/harware(ish) issue I've noticed.

Switched to Gues Profile today (may have been at the startup that generated the warnings, I wouldn't necessarily have noticed otherwise. I'm the only profile, my phone is the only PaaK.

This problem was introduced in recent months... Workaround when you happen to notice it: tell AA to pause playback, wait 5 seconds, then resume. This should address the laggy responses to track forward/back as well as some of the audio hiccups that you might be hearing.

My AA interface recently changed to the new version (it's dramatically different than before). Along with this, I haven't been noticing the audio issues but it's only been a few days so I can't say for sure that it's fixed.

I'm thinking this is the issue - no warnings on start up or issues on the 1/2 mile drive to the dealer. Both warnings cleared from FordPass this morning as well.

I am working to focus the tech's efforts on the heebyjeeby, since it's kind of the worst root cause but a relatively easy one to test for and repair.
