Remote Start Button Does Not Show on Ford Pass

Newbie question but I have Googled and YouTubed topic.

I set up FordPass (updated today to 5.8) when I got my MME 2 months ago. Everything seems to work ok except I do not have a “Remote Start” icon on my vehicle screen in FordPass. I have Lock, Unlock, Controls and Fan icons.

How do I get the Remote Start to work?

Another anomaly is under “Vehicle - Settings - Phone As A Key” it shows as not set up. But I can lock and unlock.

The Fan icon is your remote start.

Phone as a Key requires you to complete the setup steps, after which a special Bluetooth connection is used by the vehicle and FordPass to authorize your phone as a key.

There’s literally no such thing as remote starting a Mach-e. All you’re ever doing is starting the climate system. The entire difference between “then” and “now” is that the icon is correct “now.”

I think both approaches are correct, just that the fan is more confusing for many. I agree you are not starting an engine, but you are remote starting the HVAC system. "Remote Start" is what the general populace understands as "prepare my vehicle for departure". I don't even know what I would use in conversation besides the words "remote start" to describe what the fan button does.
