I believe the speed limit display on the driver’s screen comes from the Ford nav program.

So without Ford nav I am assuming that would stay blank. To have to keep looking at the center screen to see the speed limit on Apple Maps would bug me.

I wonder if BlueCruise would work without the Ford nav?

My nav subscription expired, and I still get the speed limit sign...

Yes, BlueCruise works fine without Ford nav...

Speaking of longer Tesla cables I saw this the other day. Interesting it comes in 5 and 8 foot lengths. Sort of a combo adapter and extension cord. Kind of pricey though but I guess you get what you pay for.

I wouldn’t want to leave the car unattended while charging because I would be afraid someone would steal the cable!

One of the reviews said the coupon code “Avenue”gets you 22% off.

When fast charging, the cable is locked on the vehicle...

@RickMachE

I have only owned my MME since Oct. of last year and have only used DC fast chargers about 6 times. I think each of those times I stopped the charging at 80% using my phone.

I thought if you pressed the button near the charging port while it was DC fast charging it would stop the charging and release the cable. Is this not the case?

I guess maybe if the car doors are locked the button won’t release the cable, I’ll have to check this next time I DC fast charge.

you are correct about button near charging port about stopping charging - in most cases :)

The latest software should disable this button if no key detected nearbly.

I'm in the same boat. My Ford Nav subscription expires in June. I never use this antiquated application except maybe twice a year when I use it for battery preconditioning on a winter road trip (but obviously not at a Tesla SC). That doesn't justify the expense. Give up on it, Ford. This subscription service is not a money maker, instead, it simply angers loyal customers.
Just FYI you can precondition to a Tesla charger in Connected Navigation. You just can't use it in route planning and the car won't advise you that you are charging there.

No, I don't think this is an acceptable way to implement preconditioning for Tesla superchargers in Connected Navigation. But, it does work.

Only one, up to Santa Fe and Taos in 2022. I live in the desert; I don't normally do below freezing.
So then " ...I don't care about preconditioning. I'll take the time hit when I'm on a road trip, it's not that big a deal to me." is largely irrelevant.

Go drive in the north in the winter, when you get in the car and the battery is 12 degrees.

Maybe Garmin raised their prices and Ford needs more subscribers so they can afford the new update from them?
The navigation program is a bit of a triad. Ford, Here, and Garmin are all involved. I’m sure that means neither bureaucracy nor inertia are involved and we can expect a update Soon™. 🙄

What does below freezing have to do with anything? Charging and range take a hit once you get below 50F.
There is a big difference between driving in 45 degree weather and arriving at a charger with a 45 degree battery, and starting out with a 12 degree battery and arriving at a charger with the battery at 20 degrees.

Irrelevant to you, maybe, but to me it's 100% true and logical. I do not care; I live where it is warm and sunny and I will NEVER live in cold country again!
