Long story short my car popped an error about two months ago. Took it in immediately and they told me I needed a front drive unit. The tech did the work and took it for a test drive and something wasn't right. He called the "ford" tech line and the new person told him he should have replaced the REAR drive unit and not the front! So now he has to order new stuff and it's going to be another few weeks as I guess he is the only tech certified to do this. The first time he called Ford they said replace the front drive which was wrong. I have been without my car for six weeks and by the time I get it back it will at least be 8 weeks or more. So, I'm assuming I should be mad at Ford for giving him bad direction initially? I'm pretty ticked that now essentially the entire front AND back of my car has to get taken apart. With that kind of extensive disassembly and reassembly I'm sure there are potential issues. But do I have any recourse with Ford, etc? Thanks for any and all rational suggestions.....I've already got enough irrational ones!
