Replacing a cracked windshield

Do you have have a Ford dealer replace a windshield? Can a auto glass shop do it as well?

Most dealers cannot replace a windshield and would farm it out to a glass company. Does your car have the windshield recall? If so, it would be good to coordinate the windshield replacement with that.

Yes I have the recall but I have to drive 115 miles over a mountain pass which seems to be closing ever other day because of snow. Will need to wait until March.

Yes and Yes.
My dealer installed my first replacement windshield.
Safelite installed my second replacement windshield.
Both did an excellent job.

Safelite did yours?? I tried and they told me they couldn’t. Hmmmm.

Get a recommendation from a quality bodyshop in your area and go with their guy.

just got back from having the recall done. 3hours including recalibrating the cameras. Wish I didn’t have to drive 120 miles to a dealership who has a body and glass shop but the end result was worth it.
