Ok stupid question, I have seen that if the car is plugged in to the charger it also charges the 12v battery, and if it is not plugged in the 12v battery will get power from the main battery. So wouldn't it be unlikely that it would drain the 12v? Maybe I'm reading that wrong.

The 12V battery is not maintained when the car is asleep. As a result, the battery will drain from an accessory load until it reaches 40%, the car will then wake up to recharge it. However this is an emergency process that should not occur regularly, as it stresses the 12V battery and causes early failure. Low 12V battery can also cause to you perpetually never receive OTA updates. It's important not to drain the 12V battery below about 70% SoC while the car is off. The car was not designed to support large key-off loads.

Also, the 12V battery is only maintained while ACTIVELY CHARGING, once charging is finished the 12V battery will drain, even if still plugged in.

Hummmm. I guess I will have to see. There are so many settings on the ring cameras, I wonder if there is a setting to turn the camera off when the car is off. Won't really know until I get it

I have a Thinkware dash cam installed in our Mach-E and it uses the ODB port for power. I can confirm it does turn on/off with the car. It does take a minute or two for the dash cam to turn off after the car is turned off.
?
* Note: We have parking mode disabled since it probably wouldn't work right using the ODB port anyway.

I just use Dongar connector to tap into the rear view camera. Then power a Garmin Mini off it. No cable to run around. Very easy and clean install. This new ring camera mounting location looks terrible to me, right at the center of the dash sticking out. I guess the main point is the interior view? For taxi driver maybe? I only need mine for car accidents.

The interior/cabin camera will be blocked by the center display/screen.

That is what I have now. I am sorta getting sick of the garmin app telling me there is a firmware update constantly. Then when I try to update, it's up to date. Very annoying. I am just curious about the ring still. I have so many Ring cameras and lights that it would be nice to just keep it all in one app. We will see.

I was looking, I don't think it will, but we will see. The camera looks like it's a pretty big angle. Also I wondered if it might catch an accident from behind without having a camera back there. Figure it would at least show if some one hit you from behind or the side.

Also, like they advertised....if I was parked out somewhere, I could leave the motion detection on. Even if someone stole the camera, the data would already be in the cloud. Not like if they tossed the garmin.

Correct, and is a great feature. I used to have an Owl cam and loved this feature. Owl was bought buy a third party and jacked the monthly service rates up so I ditched it.

I had an Owl cam and I liked it a lot, too. The interior view caught someone breaking in at the dealer (they didn't lock the door that night, and it was parked outside). The police didn't care, but it helped me end the debate when the dealership wanted to blow it off.

This is wild. Is she doing something to get a rise out of the other drivers? Hogging the fast lane instead of giving way to cars traveling at a faster speed?
Nope, it's just a normal two lane winding mountain road in PA. She goes with the flow of the traffic as most of her drive is no passing zones. A couple of weeks ago a guy in a F250 coal rolled her and passed her in a no passing zone. She was already going 5 miles over the speed limit. As they were passing his passenger threw their coffee with creamer at her car, fortunately it missed her windshield but was all over the front of her car.
