Huh? Who told you Rivians are not yet being produced and delivered?
I was at the service and delivery center here in Phoenix last week and saw a few dozen vehicles. They seem to be ramping up production as expected.

Can a software feature really be rolled out when a vehicle is not yet in production and delivery? ?
As of March 8, they have produced 1,410 vehicles in 2022 and 2,425 vehicles since the start of production.

Since you can't turn off the internal sensors (like I can in my Ford F150), the locked car will alarm every time when the dogs are inside.
Does anyone know when this changed? There is a setting to disable the internal sensors but after one of the updates, the setting never holds for me. It toggles back on next time I start the car. Is this isolated to certain cars? A software glitch?

If you want to leave a pet in a MME and not have the alarm to activate, do the following. In settings under alarm click “Ask on Exit”. Then you can select what sensors you want armed prior to leaving the vehicle.

you bought the car with the knowledge that it didn’t have any sort of pet mode. So now you feel that ford should be ashamed at themselves for not releasing a feature that you assumed they have developed. Now it has became a gigantic inconvenience to you. what…?
I agree. You bought the car as it is/was. Don't complain about features it does not have since you are the one who made the decision to buy it. IF you don't like it, then sell it. There is a line of buyers wanting this car.
Nope! Ford patented their Pet Mode long ago, and that was reported widely before I acquired my MME. They just haven't rolled it out to owners yet OTA.

Complaining about features that have been developed but not released is the only way to accelerate the process. Think BlueCruise.

I'm assume you both think your cars are perfect and don't need any improvements? If not, go easy on those of us who are trying to leverage change at the great Blue Oval!

I suspect you're referring to the setting that disables the exterior sensors? You can disable them when you exit the vehicle, but they toggle back on next time you stat the car.

I'm not paying that close attention to them and don't currently have a pet I'm going to tote around.

I'm enjoying my MME as it is and it gets me around just fine. If Ford pushes a Pet Mode, meh, and until they do, well, people will figure something out.

Patented and developed is two vastly different things. Companies patent thousands of ideas and a very small percentage see the light of day. Putting your faith on patents to make a major purchase isn’t wise.

Ford didn’t need a pet mode to sell their EVs. I don’t think the vehicle is perfect but I am happy with it. I also don’t shame ford for not rolling out features on my schedule. I agree that complaining may be the way to drive change but there’s a fine line where it crosses into being unreasonable.

Sure, but IMO 3 different manufacturers each at different phases of EV maturity and having not exactly the same short-term goals & priorities.

You can (could) toggle off the interior sensors. As of late, the setting doesn't stick though.

The reason we were expecting our cars to get better over time, is because Jim Farley promised this, to be competitive with Tesla. I get why the OP feels let down. Lot of talk, no action. This was 1.5 years ago, still waiting.

Speak for yourself, my car has added plenty of features since I bought it, they may not be the ones you wanted, but I haven’t had to go to a dealer for any of them. Job 2s will get their turn soon

Ford hasn't even color+model matched the cars in Sync to what you're driving. I think that says all you need to know.

I'd love it if the car could see some updates and get new features, but I also know that if the features never changed I could still drive this car for years (CarPlay helps there).

Oh. What are they? I have seen the tic tac toe. YouTube, Netflix, car wash mode, sentry mode, and dashcam were some that seem cool, do you think those will come soon?
LOL
