Ahh…I am known by all, with my common refrain to my oil-dependent friends and family(and any strangers in earshot)…
” You still use gas.!???“…lol… that gets the ‘ragers’ all ginned up I’ll tell you!😂

Nothing here personally. Been a little over 45k miles, many race events, and all across the middle/lower midwest with no real concerns. I have had people try and race a lot, but like others I have a custom tag that reads out as "All Motor", and a racing tree sticker on the back window, so I'm asking for that....

Sure, there's a scowl or two here and there, and I actually had one person give me the finger while going down the highway in the opposite lane once for absolutely no reason that I could think of.

But physical damage, swerving, road rage, ect, not yet anyhow.

Usually it's just curiosity, off comments like how much is the battery for that thing, bet you hate waiting to charge, hope it doesn't catch fire/ect.

The "It costs me less than a Venti Latte to charge each week though", usually gets them going pretty good.

Rolled coal, and "it's not a Mustang" has been the most negative I have seen in the last 2 years of ownership.

I had a trip last year where an old large truck passed me, then slowed down enough to give me a thumbs-up. And this was a rural area.

The only problem I had was in 2022 I was parked in a pro spot at Home Depot. A guy told me that parking space is for pros only. I told him that works out since I am a Home Depot pro and have been since 2011.

I was picking up a water heater. Oh yeah, it did not fit and I had to come back with the pickup.

It was different out here back when Otto was 1 of a literal handful of mach-e’s. I see another mme now most every drive. The haters either changed their tune or stifled the hate. The stop EVs ship sailed a long time ago and they missed the boat. The model y is about to dethrone the Tacoma as the most sold new car in the state. Hawaii is also number 4 in th country in per capita EV adoption. That’s a lot of hate to have to spread around.

And as @Jgg181 said, “” You still use gas.!???“ I’m stealing that for future use. :)

I frequently zip around slowpokes in the left lane and give them the finger in my bright blue MME. Those people may harass you when they think you're me.

Only real harassment I ever got was after putting ice in my frunk some diesel-bro gave me a dirty look like I was breaking the laws of the universe. As you can tell from above I'm a jerk so I gave him my standard greeting.
You certainly are a jerk.

No, somebody once asked if it was a Tesla but he soon recovered and was out of hospital, another asked if it was a Jaguar but once I pointed out to the halfwit the difference between feline and equine the thick moron crawled back into his grubby oil burning smokey prehistoric ICE machine and F****d off with a red face😂😂😂😂😂😂

I drive a Rally with all the loud graphics. People see it and tell me it looks cool, and we often have a short conversation about it. Everyone has a positive view to offer. I usually skip talking about how I recharge it from my solar array for next to nothing, since so many of my neighbors drive trucks that get 15 mpg and fuel has become expensive. They are more interested in the performance of the car than the economics, anyway.

Never had any hate or road rage. Even drag race events, people are cool.

Agree. The amount of positive interactions, with some genuinely saying that's actually a pretty cool looking vehicle, far outweigh the very few negative interactions.

I will add, I have been coal rolled once, but no way to avoid it. The 2nd time, didn't work out for the pickup trying, as it faded into the rear view before the tail pipe could even get close to me.

Honestly though, I do feel like the perception over the last 2 to 3 years has definitely started to swing more positive.

I am on my second MME GT in 4+ years. All I had thus far are many questions about range and performance, and lots of compliments.

I live in a suburban setting, and no disrespect intended, I wander if it would be different in another setting where climate change is considered a hoax and EV’s scorned in favor of gas guzzlers.

I think that you have to consider where you live and how militant the area is. I’m in a 85% liberal city, so no. Never in 4 years and two MMEs. But I have also traveled around Lake Michigan and southeast Detroit a bit. The only real harassment I got was in Traverse City. But that place is terrible all around and my least favorite to visit. Even upper peninsula was friendly and kind to us while we drove through it on two occasions.
