I have my 2024 Premium 4X-ER going in to my dealer in a couple of days to receive the 25S65 update. I am worried about unexpected ‘side-effects’ of this change. After 18 years of iPhone, iPad and Windows updates we are all acquainted with how software changes can fix a couple of things here while breaking a couple of other things over there. A software fix is not like a hardware fix and the more complex the software is, the more vulnerable it is.

Has anyone gotten this ‘fix’ and if so, has it ‘broken’ anything else. My car has been PERFECT over my first 14 months of ownership and I am worried about that impression being ruined by a hardware company trying to manage something it has already admitted to being poor at, and/or has mostly outsourced.

UPDATE: Had it done yesterday (9/25). Dropped car off at 11 AM, was ready at 5 PM. So far, no issues of any kind. All features and settings were retained and CC worked perfectly (Unlike someone else’s experience). Could not hear any cooling fan noise after shutting the var down likely because it was too cool outside to notice. So far, so good.

I just had this update installed by the dealership yesterday and am stuck in "limbo" currently. My vehicle says the update is "Not completed" but it seems as though an update was installed. The Motion Sensor settings reset themselves, which happens after every OTA update I've done previously, so it appears something was installed, but both FordPass and my Mach-E are showing the recall incomplete. I plan to call the dealership later today to find out what exactly was completed. Other than this issue, I don't see anything else that was changed on the car, it drove great yesterday and no software quirks that I noticed.

I did the fix myself with FDRS. You can hear the HVB stay on for the 12 minutes after shutdown (very quiet humm), and the windows definitely roll up/down faster since the HVB is still charging the 12v for that time. I've had no negative issues.

Does the Recall Notice indicate that the Recall has not been completed? If that's the case, the dealer did the recall software update and the paperwork hasn't filtered through Ford into FordPass yet. Give it time. Mine took 9 days. Some have had it take effect in much less time (I believe I read that someone's cleared in 2). Some took longer (I read that someone that did theirs before mine got cleared a couple of days after mine cleared). As long as the paperwork you got says they did it, it's more than likely done. 🤔🐩

Had mine done Friday 09/19 by mobile service. Took less than an hour. Didn't drive it again until Monday. Noticed a low humming sound when I parked back at home. I raised the hood, listened for a few more minutes and then it stopped on it's own. Never heard this sound before. Let's see if it happens again today.

The Recall Notice shows not completed, but also the "update" screen shows the same. Is that what happened with your situation? I mentioned this to the Ford Advisor chat and they mentioned 24 hours for the notice to clear.

You will hear that for 12 minutes each time you shut off the car. The fix continues to charge the 12v for 12 minutes after the car is turned off.

Only my doors were acting up immediately after the update. The driver door actuator was slow to present and retract itself, and I couldn't lock my doors with all the pillar lock buttons.

Pulling the 12v resolved my quirks though. The car now works as normal.

Just be aware that if you do run into issues and want to pull the 12v, wait at least 12+ minutes before attempting the procedure.

Yes. And it's 24 hours for the notice to clear after the dealer has submitted the proper paperwork. Some dealers batch that since a single submission takes as long as submitting a dozen, so it could be weekly, semi-monthly, or monthly. 🤔🐩

I had my dealer install the update yesterday morning. No noticeable difference in general operation, but did not check for HVB activity following an OFF. Fordpass, not yet updated.

Otherwise.....same car, different day.

It may not be recall related and just slow response from the Ford servers but after I had the recall done last Monday after picking our FE up the app was low to respond. It was not showing tire pressure and would not adjust the target charge level and departure times. I didn't check on Tuesday but my wife drove the car and when I checked the app on Wednesday everything was working as it should.

Other than the sluggishness in the app we had no issues with the recall update.

Mobile service applied the update last week when they replaced the 12 volt battery. No issues.

The update screen only provides the status of OTA updates. Nothing about updates done with FDRS will show there.
At least that’s my understanding.
