Several Mach-E Service Actions [Resumed] - Powertrain Software Issue

Effectively immediately, service and recall programs for the Mach-E that involve powertrain software updates have been resumed. This seems to be related to intermittent 1-Pedal drive faults encountered on a small population of vehicles after powertrain software updates were recently performed by dealers. Here is the list of programs stopped:

• 21G01 - BlueCruise Module Programing
• 22S29 - Level 2 Diagnostics Disabled for Secondary Axle Torque
• 22S41 - Secondary On-Board Diagnostic Control Module (SOBDMC) and Battery Energy Control Module (BECM) Software Update
• 23B50 - Charge Cord Stuck – Reprogram Battery Charge Control Module
• 23S56 - High Voltage Battery Junction Box (HVBJB) Replacement

If your vehicle is scheduled for service on any of these programs, that service will need to be postponed until further notice.

5/7 Update - The hold has been removed (except 23B50) and the service programs can resume. Vehicles updated between 4/26 and 5/5 will need to come back to get the software re-flashed.

They will need to stop the work on these programs and perform it later. They can still do other programs not listed here.

It’s gonna be an interesting week for me I guess. I dropped my vehicle off at the shop this past monday and they have been working on the hvbjb, charge port and roof reseal all week.

I’m gonna be po’d if they have to keep my vehicle longer because of this bs

So if I was planning on trying to apply TSB 24-2087 to fix Bluecruise, should I wait? I don't see it in the list, but I do see 21G01, and I'm not sure if there is any overlap.

Do not perform any powertrain updates (PCM, ABS, BECM, SOBDM, SOBDMB, SOBDMC modules) in FDRS.

I think they inflicted 23B50 on me five minutes before the halt. I have the car in for minor service right now, and I let them do "Charge Cord Stuck". It sounded harmless...

If I ask them to undo this, they will just laugh in my face, right?

My GTPE flagged SSN for a likely HVBJB failure just yesterday. Just delivered to dealership today. Maybe I should take them up on the loaner offer after all.

Dealers can't undo software updates.

FYI the 1PD issue is a temporary glitch, turning the car off and back on again will restore normal operation if it occurs. For some reason certain cars are much more prone to it than others. You could be totally fine and never have an issue with the new software.

The brake pedal still works. If you have the 1PD problem, pull over, turn the car off, then turn back on again.
