I don’t understand why @Ford Motor Company isn’t getting you set up with a rental.

If this is a scare tactic to sell Ford ESP with the rental option, it’s a good one.

Actually, even if you have ESP with enhanced rental, it's up to the dealership to decide if, when, and how you get a rental. It's far from a seamless process.

Have you tried to get an update from the dealer and/or the Ford BEV Team with your case#?

My 2021 Mach E GT has been at the dealership for 32 days now. In September it quit taking a charge. I was told yesterday afternoon that it needs a new HVBJB part, but Ford has no update on when the part would arrive or the vehicle would be fixed.

Which dealer? You have to be your own advocate. Get a case number with the BEV team and let the dealer know the number. They can use this to expedite the replacement HVBJB. Mine failed and it took 3 weeks and lots of drama with Autonation Ford on Broadway.

This is such a painful experience to read about and it really shows just how half-@ssed Ford's approach has been. At a minimum I would have expected white-glove treatment for things like rental cars, hotels, and airfares in this context where Ford consciously decided that the best solution to the recall is to let some number of owners get stranded at the side of the road and then wait a month+ for a part (that's available for new cars, but not for existing broken cars).

If you are still depending on your motorcycle for transportation at least our rainy season is pretty much over. Sad to hear of so many that have had to deal with this issue!

I dropped my GT at dealership 3 weeks back to fix the HVBJB failure. They said part is back ordered and don’t know when it will arrive. @Ford Motor Company any insights when this part will become available soon??? It’s frustrating to leave the car out at dealership lot for so many weeks.

Took forever but I’ve got my baby back, even after this experience, I love this car. Really want to thank this community that went above and beyond to help me out. I don’t know how much longer or how much more trouble this would’ve been without this forum.

Ha, they did not, and the kfc was a mistake. I already don’t need gas…

My dealer is gasing-up our family's extra car for me while the GT remains in the shop... 5 weeks. Not a bad deal, but inconvenient to drive there every week or so. Eh, $65 saved per tank!
