I just noticed "Trip Data" of my latest trip from work back to home was ridiculously wrong --

This is my routine commute, from work to home,
1. Distance = 23.7 miles (Based on Google Map) in SoCal, CA 57 south then switch to I-5 South. If no traffic, it is ~ 25-30 min drive.
2. Today, it was typical peak hour traffic, stop-go on CA57s & I-5s at the time, I left office around 5:30pm, arriving home ~6:20pm. Same route as described in #1.
3. Mach E (2021 Select), see attached picture of the car display: 48.7 miles, time =47m37sec, efficiency=4.4mi/kWh (very high! Should I be happy;);)?)
4. Ford pass app data (see attached screenshot): 48.8 mile trip, energy efficiency=10.5 mi/kWh (even higher...Should I be happier :) LOL )

Apparently, the data for distance is awfully wrong!! Even worse -- the display in the Car vs FordPass App does NOT agree with each other. What the Fkord!!

Anyone -- ever seen this? How to address this - software update? OTA? Thought?

More facts -- I got the car (2021 Select) on 8/30/2022, after 13 months wait. Odometer was 40 when I signed the contract and took the possession of the car. Currently, the odometer reads ~ 500 miles (should I even trust this number - since the newly discovered distance reporting issue (Ford's 48.x miles vs Google map 23.8?)

Mine does this all the time. It doubles the mileage about 50% of the time
Thanks for sharing your experience... Ford -- please fix this. This is a very fundamental , but VERY important number for a vehicle, it is like Ford is faking the data/compromising the odometer -- this is unacceptable.

A bit of hyperbole there I think. It’s a bug, nothing more. I rarely look at the trip logs any longer, in fact I’d forgotten they exist. The car still gets where it’s going.

Here’s this morning’s run to the grocery store for example:

Entirely accurate btw. Also nothing more than noise. It doesn’t mean a thing in planning a drive.

I noticed the "this trip" meter in the car does not always reset the distance when I start driving, but it still resets the average consumption. In this situation the car will show correct consumption numbers, but FordPass will be off since it also takes into account the distance from previous trip(s), whenever it reset. "Energy used", however, is only from the last trip. Hence the average consumption in FordPass can be ridiculously off.

You assume that the car's odometer is also incorrect. Did you check, specifically?

I'd wager a guess that it's not, and only the trip data displayed is off/calculated wrong.

On my 21 MME most time seems the miles were wrong, often double, sometimes triple of the actual miles driven. But on my 22, sometimes it's the energy usage being too low. Attached is a leg I drove yesterday, miles was correct, but energy should be 90%-18%, about 65.5kWh.

In any case, this only affects EV driving log in the app, nothing to do with odometer. My trip on the car, do not show same error, although sometimes also wrong.

The problem is My Trip does not always reset the miles. If it is important to you then press start without pressing brake. Then start with brake. It will always reset to 0 miles.
Looks like a lot of customers are more tolerant to bugs. As an engineer with background in both Auto and Aerospace industries, this kind of errors seem to be hard to be ignored. Maybe I should just put on my average consumer hat, instead?

To me, it is simple -- when your engine is OFF/ON, this is one trip, the END or START of "This Trip". This may only cost a few lines of codes?

Asking average CUSTOMER to be a de-bugger and still get blamed, that is NOT decent.

Thanks for sharing your experience. I hope at least the Odometer is correct LOL. Apparently, I did not check to confirm on that -- wrong or correct.

After getting into mass production after ~ 2 years, I would expect not to see this kind of bugs.

Yes, EV Trips have been unreliable forever. At this point, not expecting a fix anytime soon. If it really bugs you, check This Trip screen every time you start car. If it is showing data from last trip, turn car off, start without brake (acc. mode), then start with brake. Trip data should be reset and will record valid data.

Odometer is not affected by Trip logging.

After confirmation with some of you showing similar problems with Trip data, and most importantly odometer SHOULD be correct -- then I do not care much. Hoping it will get less buggy though via OTA updates.
