Still not showing this APIM update in FDRS, is there any specific date it will be available to everyone?
They know of this issue and are working to resolve it. No timeline on that though.

Another reason doing FDRS updates as soon as they show up isn't a good idea.

Google maps (using android auto) now shows the same info on the speedometer screen as Ford Nav. So maybe it will pre-condition the battery if you have a charger set as a destination. Maybe. Also, maybe you're asking for different functionality entirely.
That is the functionality that most of us want, now. Yes....the speed is displaying....yes....the up coming charger is in the queue but there are no posts to tell you if the battery is ready.
You don't what is going on with the preconditioning, if it is taking place, and you can't tell if the vehicle is ready to take the maximum allowable charge. Ford and Google need to work on this, promptly.

Dear ford. Don’t mind these griping unappreciative owners, Giving you useful and needed suggestions like a trunk button.

I want send a special thank you for spending all your time on things that no one requested but apparently sorely needed like changing the icons again. It really makes the car feels brand new and fresh.

I cannot wrap my head around the fact that Ford does not offer preconditioning status and then drops the ability to precondition a battery after the 3yr free trial ends. I'm trying to think of a similar feature in a ICE vehicle where, without the feature, the public would say WFT!!!

(Why am I hearing Norm McDonald right now)
I got it - a GAS Gauge!!! Ford provides a miles driven gauge as a standard feature/ And then a 3yr free trial of a gas GAUGE. You know, a GAS GAUGE. The thing that tells you if your CAR is ready for GAS. Right? All the other cars around you have a way saying HEY - stop into a gas station for some , you know, GAS! Ford owners are like "I'm not paying $80 a year for some GAS GAUGE" and then they, you know, they go into the gas station, get some chips, maybe a pop, some beef jerky, leave, and then run out of gas because they didn't renew their subscription for a GAS GAUGE. I wonder what OJ thinks about this...

New ME customer here. Bought on Feb 29 so my warranty lasts longer!! But seriously folks...

All I want is a button on the top bar for opening the trunk seeing as there's no physical button and as soon as a passenger opens a door everything turns off. Really F'ing annoying. Should only turn off after driver opens door.

And add a regen meter or add to trip details... how much regen occured. then again with the hopeless GOM and mi/kWh maybe don't bother as it'd only be a guess.

Pretty impressed, Ford announced that this is rolling out today and I noticed it was already installed overnight when I got in my car this morning. Was a nice surprise and I look forward to future updates that include BC 1.4!

One question though, is charge assist USA only? I am in Canada and don’t have it in my Mach-E, even after this update.
Same for me,
Never had charge assist. Just got 6.14 and did not receive the public charging app.

Fun story..... I am on 6.14 but do not have the Charge Assist or Public Charging icon at all!
Same here. Already had this update since March 21, and there is no Charge Assist or Public Charging app/icon to be found. How can a software update have missing pieces, when the update states that everyone gets the full update?

On a bigger note....here are the TOP 3 wants "most" MachE owners want as far as "updates" are concerned:

1) BlueCruise Update.....wanted for what seems to be "forever"
2) Trunk and Frunk release buttons on the main screen (top band) that are always present, that are not burried in a sub-menu. Oh, and perhaps not have the screen turn off when you open a door....so then you cannot open said trunk and frunk without turning the car back "on". Simple solution: Turn off the main screen after a set time duration, or when the doors are locked when the car is turned off......you know like most modern cars with infortainment screens.
3) CHARGING rate/speed on the cars charging screen....not burried in the app. If you can show it on the app, then you can show it inside the car on the screen.

Ford, seriously appreciative of the updates, no joke, but let's address some of the LONG wanted "big" items....which most of them are not "big" to be honest.

I agree. Preconditioning the battery is essential when charging the car on a trip. It should not be so mysterious. Also charge speed, a universal charge limit (don't DC charge over 80%, don't L2 charge over 90%, but there is no limiter*), battery temperature, motor temperature should all be available in car... this is a Mustang, it should have gauges!

*The charge limit based on location does not count. I do not want to make a new location every time I'm at a location away from home.

That Nice big Screen should have one alternate viewing, it would make the car rentable for Hertz, Avis etc.

Mostly the features that a car might have had about 25 years ago:

The below could be explained in a 5-10 minute tutorial. What can be controlled from the steering wheel/column, and which needed to be done from the screen. Videos of a person doing:

Windshield wipers - on, off
Heat on off, temperature control, fan speed
Window defrost
open and close trunk and frunk
Lights on/off and a button to go automatic
Cruise Control
turn signals
(How to turn) One pedal on/off Also brief explanation of what it is
where the indoor light buttons are
whatever I have forgotten

Charging, this is a biggie, I suspect car rentals should have a 24/7 chat room for this.

I had an engineer friend who was provided an EV, likely a Tesla, he returned to the agency 10 minutes later, and said 'no thanks, not for me'.

Hi owners! We’re happy to announce that Software Update 6.14 is rolling out to Mustang Mach-Es. What you share with us in these owner forums and through In-Vehicle Voice Feedback are direct inputs to some of these changes, and we appreciate your continued passion for building an electric future alongside us. The update brings the following:
  • Replaced the Display Brightness Slider with +/- buttons to make it easier to use on your drive.
  • Combined the USB and Bluetooth media sources into a single app for easy access.
  • Moved the Sketch app into the “Entertainment” page so it’s easier to find.
  • Updated the icons on the top bar to make them easier to see.
  • Added a phone battery icon on the phone app screens.
  • The Public Charging application, previously known as Charge Assist, can be located in your application drawer, where other apps live.
  • You can now start and pay for charging on the BlueOval™ Charge Network without requiring a smartphone. Filter by charge speed and network while staying informed about real-time information about new chargers, such as availability and those under repair.
  • A new map view has been added, allowing you to visibly search for nearby chargers and quickly see what’s available.
  • Frunk Release – For MY21 and MY21.5 that have had the BCM update (which opens the frunk electronically), this update adds the button to their SYNC screen.

Software updates are designed to help make your vehicle better over time. We want to make sure you are getting the latest and greatest new features and improvements like this delivered to your vehicle.
As a friendly reminder make sure you:
  1. Have Automatic Software Updates turned ON – this keeps updates coming as they roll out.
  2. Set a Recurring Schedule – software updates may happen seamlessly in the background while you are driving, while others may require you to park and exit your vehicle so set the schedule for a time when you know you won’t need to drive the vehicle, like overnight.

Below is a quick step-by-step and here is a video of how to do this and some things to know about software updates on your vehicle.

How-To Guide:
Turn ON Automatic Software Updates
  • Go to “Settings” on your vehicle’s SYNC screen
  • Choose “Software Updates”
  • Toggle “Automatic Updates” to ON
Set a Recurring Schedule
  • Go to “Settings” on your vehicle’s SYNC screen
  • Choose “Software Updates”
  • Press “Schedule Updates” or “Recurring Update Schedule”

Things to Know:
  • Don’t skip your Automatic Software Updates – this impacts all future updates.
  • If an update requires you to be parked, you will receive a reminder in your vehicle (24 hours prior) and in your FordPass App. You can reschedule up to 2 mins before the update begins.
  • Software updates are not deployed to all vehicles at the same time and are done on a rolling basis – for example, your neighbor might get an update before you do.
  • While not required, we recommend connecting to WiFi for an improved update experience. If Wi-Fi is not available, your update will be delivered using the built-in cellular connection with your vehicle modem.

So, turn ON your Automatic Software Updates, set your schedule and let the updates roll in!
Can we get feedback on the updates to OTA update timelines in general. Is there anything you are doing to get updates to owners more consistently and quickly?

I'm in Canada and also did not have the Charge Assist app. Last week, I unenrolled from the Blue Oval charge network and reenrolled for fun, and the app appeared a few hours later! It may be a coincidence, but it might be worth a try.
