Going on a trip next week that includes a ferry ride. Just wondering if anything new has been discovered to address the motion alarm issue?

Does going into settings and turning off the motion sensors before the car is turned off fix the problem?

My wife has stayed in the car multiple times without a key and not once has the alarm gone off. Of course the doors are not locked. I assume the alarm just isn’t set if door are unlocked,

am I wrong?

That is my experience. The motion sensors are armed once the car is locked. I like to use walk away lock so that's why I have to remember to turn off motions before I turn the car off in those situations where they could be tripped unnecessarily. Not locking the car would avoid that.
However, that does not explain why ask on exit doesn't work. Why would that option be made available only to have the response ignored? That seems like a software glitch. Does "ask on exit" work to turn off motions for others on the forum?
