Has anyone had to tighten the large screen? Mine is getting squeaky (mainly on uneven roads) and I would like advice on how to tighten it.

Slight pressure on the screen eliminates the noise, so I‘m willing to try to fix it myself and would benefit from others’ experience.

I have an extended warranty ($100 deductible). The dealerships take a LONG time when looking at issues though. If it’s an easy fix, I’ll give it a try…

Same problem! I've been meaning to try to figure out how to tighten it. I don't want to deal with the dealer nor trust them to tear apart the dash without creating more problems.

Hey there! If you send over a DM with your VIN and Ford dealer info, I can look into your concerns on my end.

Looks like it's just two bolts.

  1. Release the clips, disconnect the electrical connector and remove the information and entertainment display unit fastener trim plate.

Based on the above, I removed the trim panel and tightened the bolts.

Given the configuration, the now tighter bolts provide more vertical stability than they do horizontal stability, and the screen unfortunately needs to be tighter against the dash to eliminate the annoying squeak.

I believe if I put a thin silicone pad between the screen and the dash, it would completely eliminate the squeak. I’ll try that some other time - getting a wrench on the passenger side bolt was a PITA.
