Today I reset my PaaK and for some reason this reset the keyless entry code for the door - its now asking for the factory code again to change it...and I dont have it.
That’s exactly what is supposed to happen when you remove PAAK. If you can’t obtain it from the method you’ve tried, you’ll have to visit the dealer.

Thanks for the reply.
I tried that. Each time I press start (first fob and second fob) I get the screen shown in attached picture.
Then if I press OK button to clear that message I see normal dashboard.
I don't at any code pop up?
I just tried it again since it's been a while, and it worked for me. When you put the key fob in its special spot, try holding it against the wall to make sure it's making contact.

this just got me to go look at the Parts site and it doesn't seem to be possible to order the pouch. I see some on eBay but they are pricey - don't think I care enough to spend $50.

what pouch is $50 ? Faraday bags ?

if you wrap your Fob 'like a burrito' in tin foil, with the ends folded in and 3 or 4 times around, you don't need a Bag.

just put it anywhere in the car EXCEPT the center arm rest, and you have it handy for PAAK failures, loss/damage to phone, or to hand to Service dept or Valet parking.

Why not put it there? I keep a dead key in the center storage under the arm rest. Is that a problem?
thats where the 'dead fob battery' slot is.... it may detect your key by proximity, and not lock the car, and allow drive-away. I had mine in there for a while and noticed that the car would 'see' the key if it got too close to the dead fob slot even when in a faraday bag/foil.

Huh. Good to know, thanks. I just remove the battery from the key I keep under the armrest, and it's never been detected by the car without being placed properly in the slot.

I guess without the battery, the proximity required is probably really small. I had a 'live' Fob, wrapped in Foil... and found I was ok as long as it was more than 2' away from dead fob slot.

What he’s saying is correct. A fob without a battery WILL start the car if it’s close enough to the fob holder. Do not store any extra key fobs in the center armrest compartment.

The advice my hyper-paranoid Master Locksmith gave me when I was a kid still holds true: Don’t hide a key in the car. If you are afraid of being locked out, carry your spare in a place on your person or in a gear bag not the same as where you keep your primary key. ??

Would you leave a pad with all of your passwords next to your computer keyboard? ??

Tried everything and finally figured out that the owner's manual is more correct than it sounds: "Place the remote control in the slot as shown with the buttons facing upward." It's misleading but that means you have to disconnect the keys from your keyring so you can stick the keyring side in. Not sure if it matters, but we chose to put it in so the buttons were facing the rear of the car. Went through the process of putting both fobs in, and then it worked! The factory code was displayed on the dash.
