Thank you so much! I will 100% buy Dr. Colorchip before getting the PPF installed. I will start my research today.
Just an FYI, there's a promo for Dr Colorchip - DOGDAYS. I was looking at this stuff for my Challenger and that was the only promo I could find. Let me know how it works because I have a lot of chips that need fixing!

I did my own PPF on the hood because within one week there was one noticeable chip. They are almost impossible to avoid with these sloppy CA roads...

That's definitely an impact chip with two impact points. They will be difficult to see after touching up.

I have 2 almost identical on the lower spoiler/bumper towards driver side. Mine is Space White. Could not fine touch up paint at any dealer, told multiple times, national backorder.

So I ordered a kit from drcolorchip.com. Hopefully I can blend it enough so it's not too noticeable.

This makes me wish I paid more attention to the paint on the MME I test drove before ordering. I’m doing Ford Options so I don’t know if PPF is advisable if I decide to turn it back in…. But then I think I’d want it if I decided to keep it.

You could remove it if you decide to turn it in.

My car was a demo, so the tiny chips were there when I got the car. So, I got that painful experience over with before I even purchased it.

My Star White MME was a demo unit and came "pre-chipped" in about 4 places. Barely noticeable, but since I was going to get PPF in the front and a ceramic coat I obtained touchup paint from a Ford dealer. Perfect match. It's much easier to apply using a paint applicator pen like this amazon.com/dp/B084KWWSRB?psc=1&ref=ppx_yo2_dt_b_product_details as the brush is way too big for chips. Had SunTek PPF Ultra glossy finish installed on entire front bumper/grill, partial hood, fenders, mirrors, headlamps and door edges. Cost a little under $1200. Then applied Gtechniq Halo coating on PPF and CSL + EXO 4 on paint (after a light polishing). So far - so good. But at the end of the day, rocks happen!

Did they just happen to have the touch up paint in stock at your dealership or did you have to wait for the order to come in?

The dealer had to obtain it from another Ford location (they own several) but had it the next day ($20).

My Carbonized Gray has two chips in 3 weeks. I didn't hear any impacts while driving, but found them when drying after a wash.

Picked up some touch up paint. I may just give in and get PPF....really don't like them. My wife's Honda Pilot is two years old and doesn't have any. A little frustrating.

I'm wondering if the paint is softer than other cars.
