Unfortunately buckle up.
My car had the same issue and has been waiting for the replacement part since February 2nd with no ETA. Seems like its going to be a recall because everyday this happens to someone. Best of luck to you.
Same parts BCM and HVJB?

Thanks for the recommendations on working with Ford to take care of a car payment (especially if the work spans 4 weeks or more). I'll be sure to ask for that (and to have them ship my car the 400 miles back to Michigan).

I was quoted March 17th for my BECM but I got news last Friday that it was shipped. So about 2 and a half weeks after it was dropped off at the dealer.

These parts are being emergency ordered. Timing that is being given should be a no later than date with them arriving earlier if all goes well

Did you guys work through the dealer or through your Ford rep to get your monthly payment taken care of?

Both. But it started with the Ford rep.....He contacted my dealer - and it was worked out that I was 'due'....but the payment came directly from Ford.

To Ford's credit, I got a call today from a Customer Experience Specialist (I think they saw this post). She was very nice and asked about the status of my car at the dealership. She also said they were going to reimburse my car rental and make sure my MME is shipped back from Madison to SE Michigan. She also said she would do everything she could to make sure the repair and part availability are expedited.

It was a nice phone call to get; certainly made me feel appreciated. Although I'm bracing for the likelihood of having to drive an ICE rental for the next 4-6 weeks :(

This is good to hear. When launching new products or technology, it’s always best to err on the side of customer service. Early adopters will put up with a heck of a lot, but you need to take care of them.

Sounds like a recall may be in order for this defect.

I've had this same issue happen on 2 different MachE. Both 2021. You would think this would be addressed by now given how frequently it happens in cold conditions.

And the FordPass app shows 15 miles added to the car since it was towed, so I’m guessing it’s been road-tested. Another good sign.

I think it's great that Ford is stepping up to transport the car home and cover the rental. I don't know that it's a good sign that the car is already running. I hope it's not a "we can't reproduce the problem" situation.

UPDATE (March 1, 2022): the dealership contacted me and said it was a software issue only. They were able to clear the error codes and they say the car is back to normal. I didn't get all the technical details yet, but there were no battery control modules or other hardware that needed to be replaced. Also, not a 12V battery issue. The tech said that this is a known problem that will likely be addressed with an upcoming OTA.

Glad that it was a minor issue, but a bit spooked that it was a software glitch. In any case, the car will be transported back to me later this week (hopefully). Thanks @Ford Motor Company for helping me resolve this and helping with the rental/transport costs!
