It was at the base of the driveway. I used the emergency tow settings to get it into neutral. We couldn’t push it up the driveway slope, so the tow truck guy hooked it up to the rear control arms. Looked like the most reasonable way to get a good structural grab. @Crilly had a good idea too, although the car was on the flatbed by then. How did they get it out of the garage?!? Don’t leave us hanging!
How would level 1 charging (120V) work on a dryer outlet?Just curious, did you plug your car into a dryer outlet and what was the breaker amperage? Also, when you plugged it back in on the first charge fault, I assume the blue ring segments showed up?
My fault, I missed that. How would level 1 charging (120V) work on a dryer outlet?
The more tech that goes into all cars means it can happen to any. Here’s a post from an electrical forum I participate in:I've been driving, holy bleep, 40 years, and had some serious klunkers, and not once have I been truly bricked. I've had to take cars into the shop and leave them for a couple of days, both the Ford cars I've owned were kind of junk, although I got 140K out of the Mustang, and my Accord tried to kill me a couple of times (see recent news on 2018/19 Accords) but never bricked like whah happens with the electrics. I know it happens to regular cars but damn.
Wonder if the 12v adapter had a reading from inside and if it read higher then 12.0v. Next, based on the battery icon, and at 30% charge -- seems to be a faulty HVB cell is my bet. 20K miles is a leading edge longevity test. I have 1K so it's like when tranny issues on Ford Fiesta/Focus or Honda pilot/2005/Odyssey -- it happens and you are stuck. But at 60K miles... or a timing belt on a mitsu eclipse that goes out at 100k and blows up the push rods. 20K should be error free so hopeful the solution will be swift. The more tech that goes into all cars means it can happen to any. If you are debating whether or not to put a towing hook on the rear of your MME, but figure that getting towed from the back is rare, it does happen.
Yesterday, at 3 PM (daylight), a speeding Dodge Challenger blew thru a red light here in Las Vegas. He killed himself, his passenger, and 7 other people in 6 other vehicles.
I only mention it because one pic stood out, you will see why.
Even a less violent front-end accident could screw up access to the front tow points.
I saw that you posted on my thread about your issue. Was it the BECM that needed replacing on yours too?Welcome to the "stop safely now" club.Mine is only 3 months old and I've been without my Mach-E for most of the month because parts are on back order. It's just been sitting at the dealer collecting snow. I'm told that I can expect the needed parts to arrive sometime next month.
Yes, unfortunately.I saw that you posted on my thread about your issue. Was it the BECM that needed replacing on yours too?
Don't forget the BECM. I'm very dismayed that this seems to be happening a great deal with Job 1 vehicles (including mine). I hope everyone who gets this work done has their repair hold.Red ring + Stop Safely Now seems to mean you need a new battery junction box. Probably a stuck contactor.
This issue is not limited to Job 1 vehicles.Don't forget the BECM. I'm very dismayed that this seems to be happening a great deal with Job 1 vehicles (including mine). I hope everyone who gets this work done has their repair hold.
