Using the Ford sync Navigation yesterday. On a trip from El Segundo to Chino.

Usually, the GPS would route me to the 105, 605, 60, or, depending on traffic, sometimes the 91,71

Yesterday it sent me down the 405 to 110 North (I had to use the toll lanes because traffic was stopped) it had me get off at Garfield, turn around, and go back south To the 105, then at 605 south, not north to 91 then back north on 57 to 60 to 71. This was zigzag all over; it took 3 hours to go 57 miles.

I feel like there must have been a major accident somewhere that caused this. The problem is that the GPS never gave me the rerouting to avoid traffic message.
I don't know whether it did a good job rerouting or if it was confused. LOL

Anytime that happens, check GoogleMaps before following the in-car navigation blindly.

I use waze unless I'm on a road trip and need the native nav to add chargers. Even then I double check with ABRP to make sure the car mostly matches up.

Last weekend leaving SoCal for Vegas the native nav had me going a weird way to intercept the 15 N, checking waze it would have had me go a much better direct route. It was 5:45 am and there was no traffice.

Not easy to do in SOCA traffic.
It changes route on the fly

The native nav does reroute on the fly without notice ("dynamic updates"). Maybe it uses input from "The Californians" as to which routes to take!

That's funny right there.
