There has always been (and will continue to be) confusion on how Ford schedules orders. Those here in the forum were sharing widely different times from ordering to getting a scheduled production date and it wasn't clear how Ford was prioritizing these orders. Some people would get a scheduled production date just a month after order date and others would be waiting for 3-5 months. Can you explain what you mean by a dealer having enough allotment?
It was finally shared, from someone who has a cooperative dealer, that a huge part of that scheduling decision comes down to each dealership's allotment of vehicles. Ford gives each dealership a certain allotment of MMEs per quarter (either per month or per quarter?) based on a variety of factors including a history of high volume selling, reputation with Ford corporate, and more. This is very common for the dealership model but no one had confirmed it was the case for the MME due to the relatively new online order system and being a unique vehicle. How this ends up impacting customers is when you place an order with a dealership, if that dealership already has a full quarter of MME orders placed, yours gets pushed to the next available quarter. But if you place an order with a dealership that has allotment still remaining, your order will get scheduled sooner. Unfortunately for us, it's hard to know where the dealership stands on their allotment so it still ends up being a coin flip. Hope that helps!
