The scheduling is frustrating. I ordered last January and have a build week of Feb 7th. I just looked at the forum ordering list and just about everyone that reserved after me (some by 6 months after me) have build dates ahead of me, some over a month ahead. I can understand a week or 2 out of reservation order, but I do not understand reservations 6 months after me getting their cars a month or more ahead of me. Is it because some dealers are so low on the totem pole they are at the end of the line no matter what?

There are a lot of people in the same place. There does not seem to be a direct relationship between Reservation Date / Number and Build Date. Orders only started in July by confirming a Reservation.

Who is getting 3 months delivery timeline? Who is saying this?
The dealerships. Read this thread and see the different people who called their dealer and gave them 2-3 month delivery schedules.

It would seem that maybe certain regions have priority

My ordered was confirmed on June 28th and I see many way ahead that ordered in July so neither order dates or reservation dates explain the schedule. I see build dates for states all around mine (Pennsylvania) that are ahead of me. Like a said, a week or so variation I can understand maybe but not a month or 2.

It may be certain states are getting priority but I can say Pennsylvania must be dead last. Disappointing.

First rule of Fight Club. Don’t put a whole lot of faith in anything you hear from a dealership.
That’s for sure! When I ordered on 10-11-2020 I was told by the dealer December or January. In their defense though they say that for a “normal” car and for the most part that’s what they order. It’s a whole different ballgame with the Mach E !

There are many possibilities:
1. Focusing initial deliveries on certain metro areas where EVs are most popular to build some buzz.
2. Trying to roll certain colors/configurations sequentially to improve efficiency
3. Prioritizing more expensive builds
4. Some sort of dealer allocation scheme

It would be impossible to order car in January 2020, you are talking about a reservation, right? If you made a reservation in January, that's actually pretty late - there are so many people who reserved cars in November/December 2019, I believe.

Correct, reserved in January, ordered June 28th. I totally get those that reserved ahead of me. I am talking about those that did not reserve until June (5 months after me) that have build dates a month or more ahead of me.

To me the only thing that makes sense is Ford picks big markets first regardless of reservation date. Doesn’t seem right to me.
