This afternoon I got SVS and SSN notices in the Ford app, wrench and alert car with svs toast on the center display and Grey bar jail. So, some electrical issues likely in play already.

I got some error codes on my ODB reader (PO68A from the engine control unit and PO44 from the 7EC and BECM modules), and was sitting in the car seeing what else I could see, when I saw a reading for brake light switch.

Thinking I could finally answer the age old question "How much regen braking turns on the brake lights?"

Needless to say, I got distracted. Trying to get the readout to show, I heard the rather loud noise in the video.

It's the same noise turning on and off, sounds like it's located under the PRNDL dial. Loud enough to be heard over Coolie High by Camp Lo at volume 9. My normal listen level is 4-6, and 50% of the time 0, so I feel like I would have heard it so it must be new.

Hmmmm...

Wow I noticed that exact same noise this week for the first time! Sitting in my car hitting the breaks while parked. Same noise. Thought I just never noticed it before because I usually put it right in reverse. I decided to ignore it maybe its an issue.

Sounds like the park interlock in the gear shifter. You wouldn't hear it if you were neutral or drive/reverse.
This makes an embarrassing amount of sense. Dangit.

Thanks you. and a nod to the true power of the internet. The more obscure a fact, the more likely someone reading a post will know something about it.
