So I was really thrilled to hear that Tesla opened up its supercharger network to other car brands in parts of Europe a couple of weeks back.

All you needed to do is install the app, add payment method and you're good to go

I'm currently on a trip to France and since fast chargers are not that common I could use some extra options.

SO I went to one in Vierzon yesterday because there were no others in the surroundings.
And indeed there already was a Kia and Audi charging.

However my Mach E refused. Bunch of errors in the app and red lights around the charging ports. Ford app mentions a charging station fault.
Tesla app mentioned a coms error.
Tried several Tesla stations but none worked. Talked to the Kia guy if I did something wrong but no

So only Fords are having this issue?

Had to drive 50km per hour to another city to save energy and find another charger and caused some hours delay.

Nice gesture of Tesla and really disappointed my Ford refuses to talk to superchargers

I have charged several times, no problems....

Ford Mustang Mach-E Superchargers dont work 46320CFF-C968-4C2F-B280-21BB29E2E764

I also had the occasional DC fastcharge refusal at IONITY, so yes sometimes there are problems, usually resolved by completely switch off wait 10 minutes and try again...

In Europe it’s not *all* superchargers that are available for non Tesla. Only a select few. In the UK currently only about 20 in the whole country.

Not sure it is really a “nice gesture” on their part….they asked in the US anyway for federal dollars to do it and they will of course be making more money by allowing more EVs to buy electricity at their already built out infrastructure. Don’t get me wrong, it is great to see it opening up, just reaction that I don’t think it was out of the goodness of their heart.

Maybe try another Tesla supercharger station to see if things go better? I know you tried multiple chargers at the one, but if your car fails again and other MMEs have been able to charge it may be time to visit the dealer?

I have also charged in Austria, Norway and Finland at superchargers on my trip in June. No problems at all. Were about 10 sessions in total.

Edit: Just remembered that I had problems on my first test in Austria. Seemed like one V3 charger stack had a problem and 4 chargers/stalls (4A-4D) were out of order, but according to the App only 4A was out of order. Stall 2C was working in this case.

Bjorn Nyland had mentioned in one of his videos that V3 Superchargers were sometimes problematic for non-Teslas

Interesting...any way to tell a V3 tesla supercharger from a V2 or V1?

Has Tesla started to set them up in the US yet?
I read they were going to allow other EVs use their DCFC but have not heard if they are in the US yet.

Thanks

V3 are 250 kW and have only one cable (CCS). V2 have "only" 150 kW and are equipped with two cables (CCS and Type-2 DC for Model S/X).

For me both versions worked fine (with the exception of the one broken stack on my test).

Not yet. It’s a future project in the US. ??
