Some Tesla Superchargers are indicated as "Station Not Compatible". Can anyone explain why some stations are not compatible? Is it because of different Supercharger versions? Will it be fixed with future OTA update or not usable indefinitely?

The original V1 Superchargers do not speak CCS1. They will never be compatible.

Thanks Dave. The Superchargers near us (Ontario, Canada) must be some of the original ones. Just getting used to the Tesla network with adapters recently received from Ford.

All V1, V2 and some V3 superchargers are not open to non-Tesla evs. Check the Tesla website or Tesla app to determine which ones you can charge at. If you're going to use the Tesla app to find compatible superchargers, be sure to include your vehicle type so that it can filter out the ones that aren't compatible.

You can also check the Ford Pass app as well which also filters out the superchargers that aren't compatible.

Tesla's own Supercharger locator allows you to filter for chargers that are compatible. PlugShare does as well.

Sorry, my first post was incomplete. V1 and V2 Superchargers are not technically compatible and will likely never be. V3s are compatible, but Tesla has not opened all of the up to us (yet). If you can apply a filter in your favorite app to only show 250 KW and above, V1 and V2 will not show.

All "V2" Superchargers and select "V3" Superchargers are not open to non-Tesla EVs. FordPass will display "Station Not Compatible" on the ones that we can't use, so you're not left wondering why a Supercharger you see in front of you isn't in the app, it shows you the Supercharger but explains it can't be used.

ford.com/fastchargingadapter has a bunch of how-tos and answers to questions around the adapters and which Superchargers we can use.

In addition to the V1 and V2 incompatibility some of the locations that experience high traffic volume are restricted to Tesla only. Those can change if capacity warrants it.

ugh yes. It's very annoying. It seems like some newer non-tesla ones are being installed there though? Stopped by a few recently and it looked like it was under construction. Or being removed? Couldn't tell.
