*shrug* With the amount of stuff up there atm, the stuff the latest sync update apparently added, and this, you'd have a very cluttered top ribbon. Be prepared for those who hate screen clutter.

Besides, is it all that hard to tap the drive mode icon, then tsp the proper open button?
Geez… making this configurable is not possible. 😉

Personally, I’ve never understood the rush to open a frunk or trunk. Others seem to think it’s an urgent life threatening situation if they can’t get it open in under 2 seconds and preferably significantly faster than that. 🤷‍♂️

The same goes for the Ui, there are people who would prefer a bunch of empty space blissfully doing nothing constantly existing as a reminder to our personal and collective emptiness. Meanwhile, another group exists who quite literally think that every single millimeter of empty space has to be filled with something, because it’s of the utmost importance that this button activating the quantum accelerator always be displayed.

Those goals are incompatible and its why a good UI can be defined by whether it succeeds in annoying everyone. ;)

Ford can’t win when it comes to this.

Here is the SYNC version on my 2025 Mach E. Should I be expecting this update or is it an update for older model years?

That means we should be getting this update at some point eventually.

So even though the SYNC update on my Ford APP is dated April 15, 2026 it doesn’t mean I have it yet? How do you all learn to interpret this stuff? Makes my head spin and maybe I need to go take my non-computerized 1974 Lotus Europa for a spin.

Adding a phone selection icon to the top ribbon rather than a trunk button was a huge miss on @Ford Motor Company’s part. Very disappointed in the designers. Nobody was asking for this.
I disagree with you on this... being able to easily switch phones is a nice new feature. I did not ask for it, but I can tell you I use this similar feature in my Rivian on roadtrips often. The number of times I need to open the trunk from the drivers seat is comparatively much less common. Usually, I just walk to the back of the car and hit the physical button on the trunk.

I learn to just enjoy the Mach-E and let things happen when they happen. It’s doesn’t affect the drive so not worried about it. But you should the Lotus for a spin anyway lol

Perhaps the gear selector to the screen, muckmobiles have it, why shouldn't we.
I'd be p*ss*d off if they cluttered the screen with more phone buttons. So, back to square one.

You’re right and we do enjoy driving the Mach E. If something happened to this one, we would be headed to our local Ford dealer to buy another one.

That date refers to the date that an update was performed on your Mach-E, nothing more.

If they get rid of switchs and add gaint screen, quick controls should be accessible not buried under some other place.

You left out the “I think” part, not everyone agrees with you. Some do, other’s don’t. Some feel the current balance between mechanical switches and software buttons is perfect. Some also feel the current UI is fine as well, others don’t.

Besides, there’s nothing about the frunk or trunk that makes it inherently a “Quick! I need this to open this exact second!” type action.

It looks like I just have to wait for the Sync to update OTA and I will be happy with the Ford Navigation once again. I wonder how long the wait will be. Maybe SOON? That's what I was thinking 3 years ago.

But once they get the customer using another application for navigation, it is much more difficult to get them back under the pay wall. I have not renewed my Ford Nav subscription for the past 2 or 3 years because they did not have this update for my 2021 year MachE. Now I have learned I might not need it as bad as I once thought.
