Tesla Adapter hasn't arrived yet

I received an e-mail some time ago that said my Tesla charging adapter should arrive in April 2024. I have not received it. Does anyone know who to contact to follow up? I tried my dealer but no one seems to want to help.

There are many posts on this. April, and May orders got moved to June. Whether they will ship in June or not is anyone's guess, Ford is now telling people they don't know (recent posts).

If you want an adapter now, buy A2ZEV's. It will arrive by the first week of June if ordered now. When you finally get the Ford one, sell whichever one you want to if you don't want a spare. Once other car makers beyond Ford and Rivian get access to Tesla Superchargers, demand will be steady for a long time. $177.30 for the Typhoon (Supercharger adapter), $252 for both it and the Tesla Destination adapter.

Tesla sacked the entire charging team (not just Superchargers). My guess is that has new shipments to Ford on hold.

100% correct.

Since May is coming to a close and no shipments, I'd guess June may start shipping but that's still a mystery since it would difficult to ship over 10,000 adapters in one month from those that had April and May plus June shipments.

I am betting that the May & June deliveries will get pushed back again.

I would submit that it's meaningless.

Ford moved April / May to June because they knew they wouldn't ship in May.

THEN, Elon fired the Supercharger team.

The status is not like at a company where they have inventory tied to something, it's a fill-in they put up with a month, not a date (since they didn't sell the adapter, it's free, they don't need to comply with legal requirements if a customer paid for an item).

I believe that come June maybe some adapter ship, but I think this is going to be a long, stretched out process based on actions recently taken at Tesla. That's just my opinion.

Chatting with someone who belongs to the Supercharger team, he said the management & supervisors were all laid off. He still has a job designing control systems for new Tesla SC.

I'd guess that Tesla has these adapters made off shore, then sent direct to Ford's logistics company that ships them out ?

Others have speculated they are made in Buffalo, NY. No idea myself.

Mine was one of the very early orders, and per FedEx, a package from Dearborn was on its way. My husband has FedEx notify us whenever any package is en route to us. Unfortunately, it got lost in NJ. My Ford account lists the adaptor as in production, because there was a batch of people who didn't get notification of shipment. Ford is aware that FedEx lost my adapter and is trying to figure out how to deal with this issue. I hopefully will get a new one shipped, but who knows when that will happen.

I think the bigger question is when was the last time anyone received the adapter?
I too received an email in April that it was coming in June not May.

Based on no shipping activity since the first wave was sent out in April, I think Ford may have to push back orders even more further back due to lack of adapters.

So glad my A2Z adapter has been a saviour...

My Lectron Vortex adapter ( revised part w/ new lock pin) is arriving tomorrow - thinking of selling it since my A2Z has been perfect.

If the adapters are made off-shore then we are in for a wait.
The Panama Canal has extra low water levels with the current long drought. Container ships have to off load many of their containers for crossing the Isthmus using the Panama Railroad. Like they did before the second canal was built.
The Suez Canal has lost traffic thanks to the Houthi's attacking ships in the Red Sea. Ships which previously used the Suez Canal are diverting around Africa which adds a month to their voyages.
The Baltimore Key Bridge collapse adds to the problem as ships seek other ports to unload their containers and cars.
The containers of adapters may be stuck on a ship off Africa or Panama.
