So, I read the title of the thread. Is “close” using the definition meaning “near”, or the definition meaning “make unavailable”?

Of course, "almost there" could mean anything from weeks to months.

Logically, all the pieces will need to be in place and tested before the adapters go out to all. Sounds like field tests are just starting to be spotted, suggesting the Tesla side may be done, along with the Ford servers. No telling how much field testing they'll do first.

The final 2 pieces would seem to be the PowerUp, then the adapter disbursement. Probably lots of teeth gnashing will take place with those.

clearly this is a semantics issue. Does an OTA update need to take place on cars for the supercharger network? apparently it does. as evidenced in the picture above showing the update.

That is for Plug and Charge to work, not for charging via FordPass to work. Those are two different things. Today you can use P&C at EA chargers, or you can use FordPass.

Yes waiting for the Power Up. Ford has been all over the place in delivering Power Ups…:.at least they have been for me. Some Power Ups I get within a week of release….others it’s 3 weeks…..3 months….2 weeks…..1 month. There is absolutely no rhythm to Ford’s software release cadence. And that’s where the frustration will come into play for people who want to start using the SC network for spring and summer trips.

That's the title of that PowerUp, but it may not be the *only* thing it does. It could just be the piece they decided to highlight for the description.

In other words, I wouldn't be totally sure FordPass swipe will automatically work on SCs without getting the PU first. Maybe, maybe not.

Yep. The good news is that it's a Priority Update. Those go out far quicker than the routine ones. But there's still things that can interrupt those, especially low 12v battery. Best just to keep the car plugged in every night (if possible) when anticipating one of those coming in.

But we could still be weeks from that one being broadcast to everyone. I assume the testers that got it early are, well... testing. Before it then gets sent out to everyone.

I'm guessing the adapter invite won't come until after we get the PU.

Assuming this is the testing phase where testers collect data for a while, report findings back to Ford, and they analyze and adjust if needed, I'd guess we're still on track for Spring deployment to everyone beyond the lucky testers. Maybe April if no adjustments are needed, May if they are? Again, just a guess.
