This guy travelled 8,200 miles in his Tesla. Charged at over 80 Superchargers not because he needed to but he wanted to. Never had to wait in line for a charge and every charger worked flawlessly. This will definitely be a game changer for road trips when we will have that same opportunity! He charged for free on a level 2 charger overnight at 2 hotels. His kwh charge for the trip was $1,000.

At 12 cents per kilowatt, that's a LOT of free charging. Tesla, in general, is more expensive to charge at than EA.

I think he paid around $.40 a kWH average for the trip.

It's funny, I did an experiment where I picked a spot I knew there wouldn't be a lot of charge coverage and tested with both the MME and a Tesla Model X and there was a huge difference.

Note: incidentally I also did one for Seattle to San Francisco, lots of coverage, and Tesla was 1 1/2 hrs charging compared to 3 hrs 42 minutes for the MME.

Tesla is the top (shorter) one ?

Tesla has the superior charging network in all ways (except cost).
Not sure we need this thread with maps and comparisons to argue a point that everyone already agrees with.

thats some wacky route planning for the MME.

FordPass says from Seattle to Billings requires 3hr 40min of charging in my GT.

I know on my GTPE I am lucky to get 2.5 mi/kWh so I adjust the settings in ABRP for more realistic numbers (I adjust it to 2.1 mi/kWh for very conservative estimates). Even so, it's giving me 7 h 52 minutes now without the 4+ hr stop, not sure why it changed.
