We invested in an 80A Tesla Tap. It's over kill since we can only do 48A max. But if one doesn't get the 80A and is at a Tesla destination charger (EVSE) that can do 80A, a lesser Tesla Tap might not work.
We tested it out at our hotel the other night and it did deliver the full 48A / 11.6kWh.
We didn't leave it there, because there were only two Tesla EVSE's.
We moved over to a J1772 for the night, which was only 16A but fine.
We were to 100% by 1:30 a.m. well before our 6:30 a.m. departure.
Sure enough both Tesla EVSE's were occupied by morning, so I am glad we didn't do the self-servative thing of taking a Tesla spot when not needed.
