AutoCharge+ is so much better than using your phone app, Ford Pass, Charge Assist, nav, or swiping a card to start the charge.

It allows for true P&C - I can forget my wallet, credit cards, phone - but as long as I drive the car to the charger, I can just plug in and charge.

With an AAA/ACSC membership, EVGo will discount the charge by $0.99 (waived fee).

Perfect if you loan your EV to someone that doesn't have your phone, app, or use their credit card.

I use EVGo exclusively in So Calif because there are way more working towers than EA.

Pretty much gave up on EA due to the huge lines of "free charges" from all brands.
AAA members also gets 10% discount at EVGo

This isn't a test, it is clickbait. I have fast charged over 100 times. The speed of connection is very location specific. Unless they test a valid sample size, this is useless.

A recent EA location connected in 20 seconds. Another took about 3 minutes.

EVgo is the model to use for independent charging companies. Their equipment reliability is top notch, even with very heavy use. Autocharge+ works seamlessly nearly all the time (I had one issue after 50+ times, and it was charger related). I have the $12.99 monthly subscription and use them exclusively.

I wish their equipment is faster and more available on highways, not just cities.

I have not watched it yet, but hopefully, the video shows the attempts taken to find a charger that works?!?! Took me 3 tries Sat to find a working EA charger this weekend. At the second stop, I called because the other spots were taken. The poor lady on the other end working for EA I felt bad for. She was clearly just as done with the broken chargers as I was.

Full disclosure I was trying to use up the rest of my EA free bucket.
California, I assume. Seems to be the most common place for bad EA stations. The few we've used there have been fine but 97% of our EA charges have been outside of CA with *mostly* good results.

EVGo is very competitive to EA with pricing but the advantage EVGo has is they never have lines of "freebie charging" offered by so many EV manufacturers.

Tesla SC will also be competitive with EA and EVGo looking at their rates.
But charging your MME on Tesla is still $0.15-$0.20 more expensive than a Tesla charging on the same location & time.

it's probably in your area. in SF Bay Area or LA EA does not have TOU pricing. Toyotas get 1 year free EVGo - again they usually compete with bolts when I need to quickly get some decent amount of juice :)

This video has me a bit scared of what the charging experience is going to be like as a brand new MachE owner, coming from a Tesla. The Superchargers I would arrive, get out of the car, plug it in, get back in the car and it is charging. Seems like a bit more involved in the various places of having to do things on the screen vs just plugging in and sitting.
It's not that scary once you try it. I went to a nearby charger when I knew it would be slow and tried it out. There was no unspoken pressure from someone waiting to charge in case I was fumbling about trying to figure out what I was doing. After that, I've used them with ease.

Unfortunately, across the northern states there appears to be only one EVGo station (in Roseville, MN - inconveniently located on the other side of the Metro from me) from Wisconsin to the Idaho/Washington border. :(

Wow, EVGo is sparse in your area. We have a lot in So Calif.

Can't wait for my Tesla adapter as they are so much closer to me than the nearest EVGo...

Charge Assist shows 3 Tesla SC locations miles closer than EVGo which I normally would go to and have to wait (4 stalls)....
