How long should this update take?

So far it has been going for 3 hours.
What does the screen say? Is it stuck on "module will now be configured"?

Hi all, for those who had upgrade IPMA/PSCM , how many time does it take? Does we have configuration to do after like reprogrammation of reading road signs or any one else?
do you think that the battery on a 6 A battery maintainer is sufficient ?

Helly, to be safe, it will take a powersupply that is rated at a minimum of 40 amps to do the IPMA.

Depending how the update goes sometimes you have to re-run the configuration program in FDRS. Other than that its just a long update. You should not have to re-calibrate any ADAS or road sign camera stuff, no.

Not sure I understand configuring road signs.

There are settings in the adaptive cruise control for Speed Sign Recognition...but you either have it turned on...or turned off.

on my old car when you upgrade the adaptiv cruise control or change the windshield we have to launch a relearned of road sign, and so drive with the car during the process and doing what the computer connected on ODB says like validate the road sign that the cars seems to have seen.

If you don't launch the relearn the adaptiv cruise doesn't work correctly(on my old car)

No, nothing like that. The whole process is done in your driveway.

Helly, updating the IPMA doesn't require a re-calibration. If you replace the IPMA then yes.

Was thinking about dipping my toes into FDRS but had a question about the 12V power supply. Was looking at something like this:

https://www.amazon.com/dp/B01ER3LH1...L7WIQTAMS&ref_=list_c_wl_lv_cv_lig_dp_it&th=1

The question is would I need to get a new 60A breaker and circuit run to dedicate to FDRS use only? (Have an electrician coming to hardwire my L2 Ford Charger soon)

Might be a stupid question but can i use the existing 220V that the L2 charger will use, with some sort of converter (Could the electrician split off a 110V outlet?). Do you need to have the L2 charger plugged in as well when doing FDRS updates?

Since I have to have them run a line for the 220V was wondering if I should get a quote for a new 110V outlet or if I could somehow make something else work.

No, you do not want to have the car plugged into L2 at all during an FDRS update. Some of the module updates interrupt communications which could cause some weirdness if the HVB is plugged into a charger. ??

if you are doing FDRS updates, you will need access to a 110V outlet for charging your laptop and for the 12V power supply. If you don’t have one very close to your car, a heavy duty extension cord will be fine. ??

Unless I missed something, I do not see that has power supply capability. You do not need to have the car plugged in for FDRS; just a proper power supply to the 12v battery in the frunk.

If you're going to have an electrician come by anyway, adding a 110v outlet may be convenient for this and other uses. I just run an extension cord out to my driveway.

I think your confusion here is between AC amperage and DC amperage. This unit provides up to 55A of DC power, and is making the conversion internally from a regular household 120V 15 amp outlet. Completely different than the AC amperage you need for a level two charger at home.

Unless I missed something, I do not see that has power supply capability. You do not need to have the car plugged in for FDRS; just a proper power supply to the 12v battery in the frunk.
I have that same power supply. There is a switch that toggles it between charge mode and power supply mode. if I recall correctly, it comes in power supply mode from the factory. It works great for updates. Never a problem. And, I can use it to charge a 12V battery should the need arise. But, there are cheaper options if you just want the power supply. Just make sure you get a decent set of wires with alligator clips on one end.
