With FDRS, the USB updates have to be installed in order. Not sure why they make you do it that way because it doesn't have to be that way, but it is what it is. The powertrain updates I think you can go straight to the latest version with FDRS or OTA.For the USB updates I think to have read that those are incremental, i.e. that I need to install one SW release after the other. Does this apply for the powertrain as well, or am I able to install the latest revision only?
Are these the same updates that Mike G mentioned in this post? https://www.macheforum.com/site/thr...ating-your-mach-e-with-fdrs.10217/post-939620FYI, new powertrain updates seem to have been released sometime in the past few weeks.
Which modules do you want to update?Hello,
Quick question — is it okay to connect the battery directly to another car’s 75 amp battery while the other car is running, instead of using a power supply?
I’d like to try installing 1-2 updates before purchasing a dedicated power supply
Non-USB updates.Which modules do you want to update?
GWM, APIM, TCU and IPC don’t require a power supply. Many other updates that complete quickly can be done without a power supply.
IMO? Anything except the CCM, CMR and IPMA/PSCM is safe to do with no power supply if your 12v is charged up when you start. Which modules did you want to update?Non-USB updates.
I read here that it's recommended to use power supply even for the small updates.
Actually, I managed to run the USB modules (finally!) last night and got appetite.IMO? Anything except the CCM, CMR and IPMA/PSCM is safe to do with no power supply if your 12v is charged up when you start. Which modules did you want to update?
