I see a lot of fun and some very funny stuff in this forum. I've only owned the GT for a couple months, and we already have several entertaining experiences. Like my wife using FordPass to crash my lunch, or when she switched to one-pedal drive while I'm driving in tight traffic and nearly got rear-ended when I naively took my foot completely off the accelerator. (We've quit experimenting with setting when we're moving!!)

You don't need a Mach-e to have fun, but in my estimation, the GOOD_TIMES_PER_YEAR factor is already besting other vehicles I've owned.

One of the funniest was when I told my gal about the hands-free trunk then demonstrated it for her. I should have recorded her attempts to get it to work. (We have a 2022, there is no hands-free, but a guy can demo with his hands in his pockets, if there is also a FOB in his pocket!) She was amazed when the kick under the tailgate did not work for her, but the patented karate-chop manuever DID work for her. She finally caught on when I showed her my favorite, the "pull my finger" trunk release.

I hope you are having as much fun as we do.

Not fun necessarily but probably funniest thing that happened to us that I posted a while back:

Just yesterday a big Silverado tried to go in front of us and gas it to coal roll us, but he ran out of room to properly hit the gas pedal.

A little further up we pulled into the carpool lane because traffic was getting bad, and he jumped over in front of us just to gas it and properly roll the coal, and then jump back into traffic as we sped away in the carpool lane. ?

We joked about the $10 he just wasted in fuel and how small certain things must be.

So far one of my most fun experiences was a buddy with a C6 asking if he and three of his sons could go for a ride with me in the Mustang. He's a car guy and loves everything automobile, so it wasn't an anti-Mach-E kind of request. He and his sons are all large people like me. I took them out on the test drive route, which includes a short drive on the freeway. When we got to the freeway onramp, I hit WOT. We were at >90 before we had fully merged onto the freeway. They were all blown away by the acceleration, even with five large men in the vehicle.

A buddy of mine sells Nissans, been trying to get me to test drive a Leaf. He told me 0-60 in the Leaf was around 4 seconds (even though literally every article that ever cited 0-60 for a Leaf, and literally every person who has driven a Leaf would disagree considerably.) Said he based this on his experience test driving a Leaf. I'm thinking he meant Nismo Leaf with his numbers, although that model wouldn't break 4 seconds. I'm also thinking maybe he's never really driven a sports car.

I convinced him to bring a leaf over to my office to check out. My goal was to get him in a race as we have a mostly private side road by my office that would work well for 0-40 or so, which would be more than enough to make my statement. For "insurance" reasons, he wasn't able to participate (and could not be goaded!) So I took him for a ride to show him what a sub 4 sec 0-60 really feels like. Would have been a better story if I had race results to talk about!!

I think he has since adjusted his 0-60 stats for the Leaf.

Note, we drove the Leaf, too. Nothing bad to say about it, except that it is NOT an MME and NOT remotely as performant. Seemed like a good car albeit short battery range. I think the Nissan Ariya will be the more attractive vehicle in the Datsun lineup.

I'll try to get him to race again. Someday. When we see an electric GTR!

Big dudes and these seats = "holy crap!" Little do they know I can pin my daughter into the seat just as well because they're made of marshmellows.

Funnest so far? New 'Yote 'Stang getting all sideways in front of me, then me keeping pace whilst smiling at him. Safe? Mostly, 6 lane road with 2 other cars in the oncoming lanes.

My wife noticed and mentioned the other day "You know, everyone I see giving you a thumbs up or saying 'nice car' is older than you. Not sure that's a good thing."

When I went to go pick up my younger sibling from school and a kid starting taking pictures of my car. Other than that I don't have anything else cause the car has been in the shop for 5 damn months. Getting it back Monday though if everything goes to plan.

I was in the drive-through the other day. The kid taking orders and payment looked out. "Oh, wow! That's the new Mustang!? That's so awesome!" Gave me my card back. I pulled forward to get my food. The kid was there, so excited! Had everyone smiling and looking. They asked me to pull to the forward spot and they would bring my food out... The kid from the ordering line must have begged to be allowed to bring the food out because there they were...

Similar experiences, funny how its the kids who know all about the latest EV models. I lunch now and then with a buddy who noticed the first time I showed up in the MME, but didn't know what I was driving. He was actually confused by the Pony logo. "This ain't a Mustang!" But his two boys were all over it.

Went to lunch at a Mexican place the other day, it wasn't busy so I sat by the window near my MME. The waiter pointed and asked "is that yours?" and then proceeded to spend my whole meal standing there staring at it talking about muscle cars. After lunch he came out and got a tour and loved it ?

Driving on highway near home. An F-150 pulled up and the adult passenger, and kid in back, looked over excitedly and pointed. We smiled, waved, they pulled in front of us. We pulled out, hit the pedal, got to 90 something and pulled into the right lane. They caught up, and the adult was delirious with excitement. Big thumbs up.

That was in 2021, those reactions stopped over the past year.

In a neighborhood in SC. Stopped to tell workers that a car had headlights on. Worker came over to turn them off, and looked at the car and smiled. I told him it was electric, and he didn't understand. I told him there was no engine under the hood, and that the car ran on batteries. He didn't understand. I opened the frunk and pointed. He stared, not grasping it. I drove away.

it's funny, most of the comments I have received from the friends I have shown my GT to was about it being an SUV Mustang, they didn't even know it was electric until I told them, which changed the conversation completely ?

This reminds me of a George Jones song, about a Corvette. So, maybe take this as a warning, next time someone wants a tour.

(Partial Lyrics, Modified for the MME)

Then, I handed him my FOB and said "Here take her for a spin"
The old man scratched his head, and Then he looked at me and grinned
He said, "Son you just don't understand It ain't the EV I want
It's the brunette in your Mach-E that turns me on"

It’s a Mustang in my heart.
I have a friend that has a 2020 EchoBoost Mustang, with a 4 cylinder engine, 330 HP, and 0-60 in 5.5 seconds, and he says "That's no Mustang!" I asked "Why not? It's made by Ford, it has a pony on it, THEY say it's a Mustang" he replies "It's electric, Mustang shouldn't be electric!" I say "Mustang shouldn't be 4 cylinder either. I have 480 HP and 0-60 in 3.8 seconds, yours isn't a Mustang by your definition either." Then I made him drive it, and he loved it. His final conclusion was "OK I guess it doesn't matter what it is, it's f-ing awesome!" and now he wants one ?
