He said Tesla is awesome, the cheapest, best, highest quality, most features, never fails, etc. Why don't you just believe? Just believe! All hail!
Sigh… I know. I’m a loser because I don’t believe in the divinity of St. Elmo. I’ll be condemned to Hell (which I assume is Mexico) or something ?

So, if the BMS stops using the 12V battery when it dies, how is the BMS powered? Don’t Teslas also have contactors that would have to be engaged to leverage the HVB? If so, how do they power the contactors (and the modules that control them) without power?
they don't? Dead 12v = dead car

It doesn't just die because your battery is topped off from the main battery pack either way

And a significantly larger frunk. Ford replaced the nice frunk with a fairly useless nano-frunk for 2025 ?
Was just about to say! Almost got mad at the heat pump crowd who clamored for this, but then I remember that Tesla managed to get one in without impacting the frunk!

even the Lucid Air sedan had a much bigger frunk at this point! I might be wrong but they might be the only non-Tesla to include a properly usable frunk in a car that’s not a humongous truck or suv.

The mach e screen with the integrated dial is probably not cheap. Whereas the model 3/Y screen is a better looking screen which probably costs less.
Um, GM just took a page from the Mach E with regards to sticking a knob right to the touch screen on some of their newest vehicles.

until we get those bulging/morphing screens that were unveiled at this years CES, sticking a knob to the screen is a good way to add a tactile point of reference for something so common like volume and temperature, while maintaining a relatively modern and clean look. It keeps our eyes on the road, instead of forcing us to glance down or sideways to see where our fingers are gliding as we aim blindly for the wrong button. There’s a reason why we still use physical keyboards on our desks and laptops, even though we’ve been using touchscreen smartphones and tablets for ages now.

My partner has a model 3 and here's my thoughts on them:

Model 3 better:
I quite like Sentry but it kills battery
Better games/apps on the Tesla
App is far better and has a lot of useful features like additional drivers+ PAAK
Horizontal orientation of screen is more useful I think
Much better update system

Worse:
Seat profiles are hit / miss, MME is consistent
Apple CarPlay is better than its integrations
Battery in MME is more reliable vs cold weather
Model 3 has sort of 'known issues' such as dead modem and wheel struts - however we've had to pay for them all to be fixed, comparatively Ford have been great at sorting known issues.

One of my kids reports that while his Tesla does give a warning on a failing 12v battery, it means immediate attention to avoid the car bricking. He reads that as Today, not tomorrow. I expect Ford to do something like that fairly soon. Oh dear, Soon.

I must have misunderstood you when you said:
It's just that it can withstand draining and not dying.
I interpreted that to mean that you were saying that Tesla’s LVBs could never be discharged to the point that they could no longer provide any useful energy (which to me, made no sense ?‍♂).

The change over to a heat pump did affect the frunk size on the Model 3. Not to the extent as on the Mach-E, but it did get smaller.

My ONLY hesitation about Lucid is that they’re owned by the Saudis. First, why should I pay them for a car when I don’t even want to buy oil from them. Second, I have serious moral issues with them.

Nah, you’ll probably be sentenced to eternity living in a tent in the Fremont Tesla Plant parking lot.
I’ll take Mexico any day of the week. A nice chance to work on my Spanish (I find Mexican Spanish to be easier than many others).

The Mach-e frunk reduction was caused by both the heat pump and the reorientation of the radiator.

I would argue that the full self drive on a Tesla is way more advanced/cooler than Bluecruise 1.3 which, for some reason I don’t have access to. But that’s another story.
