I bought in late 2021...
  • Premium AWD was at least 30k cheaper than Tesla at the time
  • Looks way better than anything else I've researched. (And it still does)
  • Local dealer and lots of dealers when road tripping
Yes! MME Premium was a bargain last year compared to Tesla

  • The Mustang is 100x better looking
  • Android Auto / Apple Car Play
  • Mustang branding
  • Dealer network for service
  • Full tax credit still available at the time
  • Employee Pricing (family member)
  • In my area, there seems to be a 500:1 Tesla to MME ratio. It's nice to stand out.... Especially with the GT

I’m curious as to everyone’s thoughts on why they chose a Mach-E over a Tesla…

Personally I think Tesla got a lot of things right minus the styling & design. I think they’re bland/boring and everyone and their mother has one.

Why did you buy a Mach-E?
I get people stopping me weekly and admiring the rapid red Mach e premium. Even a mod 3 owner.

Totally agree with these points. It’s nice driving something that isn’t the equivalent of a 90’s Camry.

As many have said (based on June 2021 purchasing options):
  1. No Android Auto
  2. No Tesla tax credit
  3. Having to essentially rely on the center touch display for everything (nope, sorry)
  4. Build quality
From an environmental standpoint, I'd still rather see Teslas driving around but I don't find them interesting. Not like I do other BEVs. Much cooler when I spot an EQS or Lightning (both rare around here). Still waiting to see a Lyriq. Oh and in NH, on the coast, the Mach-E is also still rare (this is Tesla land). So it's nice having a car not everyone is driving (for now).

Oh and CYBER ORANGE!!! I get more compliments on the color than the styling. And kids love it ?

Long term cost of ownership and I we are Ford loyal. Neighbor had a M3 and sold it because of the service issues, nothing big wrong but the nearest center is 40 miles away.

0ur 2006 Mustang was getting to that point of replacement and MachE fit the bill perfectly, efficient, sporty looking, cheap to operate (said that twice on purpose). Running 2 MachE costs us $50 in electricity a month, that is half a tank in our truck at current prices. Pump shock sure does aid in keeping the miles of the truck these days, it lives in the garage on a battery tender and is plugged in more than the MachEs combined.

Would I get a M3 or MY today with current pricing? Tow rating would really be the one thing that they do better, besides that no, I would eat the cost and get another MachE.

Got my MME because it was the only EV for sale in my area, except for a used Tesla, and I sure didn't want that. I'd been trying to find a Bolt within eight counties, but boy, am I happy this Mach-E GT showed up at a dealer just up the road from me. It's been a dream.

My previous car was a 2015 Ford Mustang. The high price kept me out of the EV market for quite a while, and by the time I was ready to enter in early 2021, I had already grown to dislike Elon Musk, so I had no desire to buy a Tesla. The Mach-E had been announced. I loved the look. It met my expectations. So I bought in.

For some people, there are higher values than personal wealth.

For some people, those higher values include programming their products with fart sounds.
I want to give two very different "like" emojis for this... well said!

I’m a bit of a contrarian, and just didn’t want to have something that everyone else had. I actually like the Model Y in certain colour & wheel combinations, but just didn’t want to be like everyone else.

Yea I could see that for sure. I hate having what everyone else has.
