I guess to each his own. I’ve read a lot of posts in this forum about the “broken” Speedo.
It’s just not ideal for some people when driving and not in a full ADAS mode. Some body combinations and seat adjustments don’t give a view of the speed while driving. But you’re quite right, it’s not broken. The bigger issue is that people are like cats, they hate change.

It’s like my cat, one day I put her water bowl on the right of the food bowl instead of to the left. She complained vociferously and she almost never meowed in her entire life (seriously). I ignored her, cause really? She came out of “her” room, tracked me down and led me back to her room and sat staring at the water bowl until I moved it. To where it should be. Back to where it belonged. Because reasons. Then she ate her food and was happy. True story. Substitute cat for Mach-e driver and me for Ford Mach-e UI designer. Guess who’s going to win? We just haven’t been sitting and staring long enough.

Haha!! I laughed my azz off at this! Great analogy (cute cat too). Yea - I get it. Like I said, I’m the new kid on the block with my MME, so I’m sure I’ll feel different 1, 2 or 3 years down the road when Ford changes something that gets my “fur” in a tizzy. In the meantime, I hope they come up with something that works for “most” peeps!

I guess to each his own. I’ve read a lot of posts in this forum about the “broken” Speedo. I have a ‘24 Premium, so haven’t logged as many hours as others here. However, I don’t view the current location of the Speedo as “broken”, but rather a choice Ford made to prioritize the ACC/Blue Cruise feature over having a speedometer dead center.

I’ve been using Blue Cruise and really like monitoring the position of the car center screen, especially while in hands free mode. I can still monitor my speed fine. That said, if Ford moves things back around or gives us a menu option to choose from multiple layouts (ideal), perhaps I’ll feel differently.
No it's a bug. It was actually fixed in 2024 which tells you it is a bug

The speedometer is permanently on the left in older cars and is not centered when not using bluecruise

This is 2025. Tesla has good software

The fact that ford broke the speedometer animation and the speed is no longer centered is puzzling. That would be a 1 day fix for tesla, but the car's software would never be released like that.
As Tesla owners stated: "Beta fixes for Beta Software". Don't risk your life for the PR.

So my speedo hasn't moved since 2021, and you can't be serious about it being a big deal because Tesla owners argue that a driver display isn't needed, Tesla speedos are way off to the right.

Haha! Yea - that’s one of the things I like about the MME. To me it’s the right blend. I use both screens - but focus most on the IP while driving.

because you don't need it. And if you have a car with the steering wheel blocking the speedometer, then having it to the right is certainly better than that.

The location of the instrument panel on most cars is LOWER than where tesla puts the speed. You have to move your eyes further away from the road to look at the speed

Very hypocritical of you. Ford placing it 2 inches to the right is a massive failure. But Tesla eliminating it altogether is a genius move?

See - that’s the thing about each person choosing what works for them. It’s not always about what we need - but rather about what we like/want. I have no issue with Tesla’s design, but still prefer having a display behind the steering wheel. I guess Im lucky in that I have no issues seeing everything clearly.

Huh? There's plenty of bad things about tesla.

The autopilot sucks and needs to be updated to match the latest FSD performance. Autopilot also needs to be hands free because the steering wheel nags are not good in a tesla.

The lightbar in the model 3 ambient lighting can crack and does the same thing in the cybertruck.

I prefered the gear selector stalk vs shifting on the screen.

They brought kept the shift stalk for model Y but they should have kept it the way it was and kept stalks in the original configuration.

FSD speed control is questionable right now. It either drives too fast or too slow. If you set FSD speed offset to 0% then it drives more correctly but I believe you have to have speed offset set to 40% to reduce interventions.

Annoying one is tesla does not make updates to some features of the car until a refresh. 2023 model 3s are stuck with HW3 while all other 2023 teslas had HW4

That’s like being asked in an interview about your weakness and you saying: I’m a perfectionist ?

yeah because tesla vehicles (refresh) are good since they fixed all of the issues

Ride quality is now good.

Noise isolation is good. Model 3/Y refresh is significantly quieter than a mach-e

pre-refresh vehicles could not have been bad if they sold millions of them

Edit:

Camera placement on tesla is not enough for full self driving. At minimum I need a bumper camera (which could be a retrofit) and possible front side-facing cameras

Not sure teslas need frameless windows. Don't know if there's any reason they don't have a thin door frame
