Thoughts on electronic tinting

Hello Everyone,

Wondering if anyone has come across a dealer/merchant that offers electronic roof tinting on the Mach E. I’m not a big fan of the clip-on shade and the electronic option would seem like a nice match to the tech the car already packs.

Isn’t the roof already tinted? I have never felt the need for a cover or tint of any kind.

This is exactly what I was looking for. I’m in the same boat as you, I’m not sure I feel adventurous enough to take apart so much of the vehicle all on my own. Thank you for the link!

Isn’t the roof already tinted? I have never felt the need for a cover or tint of any kind.

The special coating does a great job in keeping the heat out. Although sometimes on clear, sunny days, the cabin can be a bit too bright. IMO/preference, It’s nice to have the option to block some light with just the push of a button.

I live in south Texas wher eit was 101 degrees today. Last year we set heat records most days over 100. I have no screen and no aftermarket tint. The Mach e stays cooler than my wife’s Edge. No need for any of that stuff. Just enjoy the sunny interior.

I live in sunny California and I tinted all the glass on my MME including the roof. I got the top rated 3M Crystalline heat reducing tint.

Does it make my car significantly cooler ? Maybe...

I bought my MME last July and had the tint work done within the first few weeks.

Pop on cover for the roof works perfect here in 100° heat. It cuts way down on that heat coming through there.
