I pick up my Demo '25 Select, AWD standard range tomorrow. What tips and tricks do you have for me as a new owner?
Turn it back in and get the GT. You'll be glad you did especially if you keep a ev for a decade or more like me. My 5 year old GT Performance is still a awesome beast. Knew I was keeping it so bought the top fully optioned trim for longevity. Tiimeless design higher power numbers tons of performance parts and still keeps up with the modern high powered ev in 26.

- Feel good every time someone asks you how much you're paying for gas where you live. "$7 for a full charge, same as it has been for a couple years."
- Try to always have enough charge to get to the second option for charging. Charger reliability is improving but not good enough to confidently roll into the only charger in 50 km radius with 2% charge remaining.
- The km remaining indication GOM is based on recent driving history. When you change from low consumption driving (around town) to high consumption driving (120 km/h), it takes 50-100 km before the GOM will reflect the change in range. You can get a better estimate right away using Ford navigation to a charger along your route but after a few trips, you'll be able to make a pretty good estimate in your head.
- I find energy efficiency is mostly affected by: 1) driving speed 2) temperature 3) decelerating to a stop slowly. Unlike an ICE vehicle, EVs aren't affected much by how fast you accelerate so enjoy that.
- On hot and cold days, activate climate control a couple minutes before you get in the vehicle. It makes winter so much more enjoyable to get in a warm vehicle and it really doesn't use much energy.
How fast I accelerate my GT Performance drains it to 1.5 to 2.5kwh fast as you can sneeze. Driving less spirited gets ,e 3.1 kwh 32.kwh on 100 miles or 105 mpg vs 90 mpg.
In 5 years you learn your ev. 65mph highway is the perfect effiency speed.

I’ve been thinking about this. Happy to support a knowledge base.

As for the original poster question

You don’t say if this is your first EV or not.

If it’s your first EV, then you want to download the apps. EV owners have apps: PlugShare, the charging apps (like Tesla and Electrify America). Yeah, you can Blue Oval it, but if it doesn’t work, you’ll want a backup. Also, try a road trip! Drive it somewhere that requires a fast charging stop. You’ll gain confidence!

If you’ve owned an EV but this is your first Mustang Mach E, then you’re going to need to develop an opinion on these subjects 😉
  • Rally springs and sway bars
  • The seriousness with which Ford is taking EVs
  • Frunk size between 24 and earlier and 25 and later (there is only one correct answer to this one)
  • Ford’s technology, including its connected navigation, blue cruise, and FordPass
Glad you’re posting!
It would help if you would complain that Ford took away the ability to plan a trip on your phone using FordPass and send that trip to the car’s Connected Navigation.

Also it’s important to complain that you can’t just manually precondition on a road trip in winter as you approach a charger.

Also it would help me if you’d take up the cause against gawdawful highway-side smelly noisy fast charging stations in favour of charging beside awesome restaurants, cool sites, wonderful coffee shops, and at hotel parking garages.

- RTFM (read the funny manual)
- Read as much on this forum as you can
- Read the posts on Facebook Group "Mustang Mach-E Owners"
- Read any other available sources that are in the same realm

Constantly do this over time. Don't expect to acquire all the available knowledge and experience in an immediate gratification term. This is a work in progress that takes time. I'm speeding toward a 5 year ownership, and I continually seek out any and all material to enhance my knowledge base.

Well said above.

Replace the rear qtip wiper with a longer one of 15 or 16 inches.

Don’t get spooked by seeing all the posts on this forum showing what seems like never ending issues with MME’s. They are offset by thousands of silent MME owners driving happily with no problems. Go to any other automotive forum and you will find that they also are filled with owners gripes and vehicle problems. But IF you do encounter an issue with your MME, there are some serious people on this forum who will help you.

Don’t get spooked
I feel like this is the most important thing I’ve read in this thread, lol. It’s easy to get overwhelmed by this forum, but that’s just because there are so many wizards in here. It’s a great car, and I can’t wait to get my hands on it!

OP said he bought a '25, which comes standard with a 15".

I had bought a two-pack of 15" blades for my '22 on Amazon, put the first one on and kept the other as a spare. When I upgraded to the '25 I was going to put the extra blade on only to find out that Ford had listened to our complaints and changed it for the '25 MY.

Welcome to the Mach-E family! ⚡ We hope your Delivery Day was an exciting one!

Before we get into the technical stuff, I have to ask. What color did you go with? Please share some photos once because we never get tired of seeing new rides around here.

As for tips, the folks in this forum have given you some great real-world advice. I always recommend getting your digital life connected to the car right out of the gate.
  • Get the FordApp. Download the app and create your account. It's that easy.
  • Set up Phone As A Key Once your app is connected to the car, follow the prompts to set up your phone as a key. Being able to just walk up to the car and drive off without digging for keys is fantastic. Just keep your physical fob on you for the first few days while you get the hang of it.
  • Activate Plug and Charge Take a few minutes to enroll in the BlueOval Charge Network and turn on Plug and Charge in your account settings. When you eventually use a supported public fast charger, you can just plug the cable in and the session starts automatically. No swiping credit cards or downloading random charging apps.
Recommend checking out go.ford/evroadtrip for more helpful information to help ease you into EV ownership.

Enjoy the new Select and know the community (including me) are here to help answer any questions.

One-pedal and two-pedal diving have pretty much the same efficiency but one-pedal is so much more fun!

In the unlikely event that you find yourself cutting it close to reach a charger, destination or home, just slow down. If you are traveling at higher speeds, your range will suffer but slowing-down gains it back through much better efficiency. Consider this as a tool to keep in your back pocket. Its much better to slow-down than run-out of charge a mile or two from the charger.

As an example, a Hyundai Kona EV which is EPA rated at 258 miles of range, recently traveled 600 miles on a single charge going around 25MPH. I'm not saying you need to go that slow, but it shows how much range you can get when going slow.
