Tips for delivery

Will be picking up Premium with standar battery later this week. Ordered end of August, built 11/21 shipped end of Nov; ready for pickup this week in Southern California.

Any tips on pickup, acceptance?

Have 220V/50A with 14/40R in metal box, dedicated circuit 50A. Given what I read about plug/socket failures over time, will want to replace with hardwired lev 2 charger. Recommendations?

For the charger, check with your lock utility to see if they offer any deals or incentives. Some offer rebates if you let them reduce charging during high end periods. If you have TOD pricing, it can help lower charging it.

My new car was in Unbridled mode when I drove off the dealer's porch and it was difficult to control the speed when starting off. I recommend having it in Whisper mode, at least for your first few drives, to avoid scaring yourself and maybe hitting something nearby. The car can accelerate just as fast either way, you just have to push the pedal farther in Whisper vs Unbridled.

Bluecoral put out a great checklist on this forum. Main thing - do NOT be excited to drive it home. In particular, ensure you are totally comfortable with Sync interface. Create your profile (basics, you can update later), check for latest updates and make sure the car is current. Boring stuff like lights, doors, tire pressure. Have the app already downloaded and ready to link with car. Do a test drive before you accept with salesman. Check that bluecruise engages properly - inst cluster turns blue. Ensure the glass roof aligns perfectly with front windshield. Get your two fobs. Take your time, you do not want to have to go back later.

If you don't want them to drill into your bumper to install the front plate, let them know. Get it in writing.

Despite doing all that, my dealer still installed the front plate.

Sounds obvious, but adjust your mirrors

Also, all cars come with two fobs now - make sure you get both. I had to remind the salesman…

Ask questions about anything you don’t understand.

Ask for your window sticker if it matters to you.

Drive slowly. Avoid the temptation to gun it until you are comfortable driving it. I waited a few days for testing out the beans.
