I just ordered my Premium Rapid Red Mache and it comes with 225/55/19 tires. Thats a little disappointing, a wider tire would make sense. Whats your thoughts?

It'd be pretty cool if ford had the ability for users to change the tire size on the car's settings if an owner swapped out for something else, like 235/50/19.

There‘s probably a way to tell the bolt pattern from the picture, but that’s beyond my abilities. I wanted to check on options for winter wheels and tires, but the bolt pattern will dictate the wheel options.

Yes I look at that too and they need to know the distance between each nut holes like the pitch I assume, I'm looking at putting 18" wheels and 225-60 R18 tires for winter use.

I went to the local Tesla store last Sunday and made a point to check a Model Y for tire size. They actually had two demo's on the lot and a new one being prepped for delivery. They all had P255 R19's on them. There was also red Performance Model Y with 20" wheels
I also checked the quality of the build, i.e door fit, paint etc. They all seemed fine to my eye.
But I will say that the extra $2,000 you pay for the red paint on the Tesla didn't jump out at me like the Rapid Red on the Escape I had just checked at the Ford dealer down the street.
I was tempted to take test drive but you need to make an appointment ahead of time.

One thing I noticed was the area over the wheel well/fender is a trim piece. Most of them are black. So that piece could be wider for use with wider tires. Most vehicles seem to use the formed sheet metal for that area, which would be far more difficult to alter. So you could have a staggered arrangement if you wanted with really fat tires on the back along with a wider fender trim piece.

So the aftermarket will likely have a lot of options on what it could change, that and the black door handle, which appears to only affect the black trim, so removal is likely possible without affecting the paint colors.

If you look at pictures of the GT it is sitting on 245/45 r20 so better but still smaller than the 255 & 265 section tires used on somr other bevs. Naturally range is key for a lot of people but, the default rubber for cars in the USA is all season , so I assume at least the GT performance would be coming with high performance summer tires such as the pilot sport 4s otherwise no point using performance in the name if it is going to come with all season tires.

Oh yes, me too! The Mach-E has the same tire size as my CX5GT. In the winter, I swap to a 225/60R18 wheel & tire combo which cushions packed snow bumps (and pot holes) for a smoother ride.

I plan on ordering a 2022 GT model. These TVs will go through tires faster than ICE vehicles so I will just go with 255's when it comes time to replace them. I have a Ford Explorer Sport Trac Adrenalin and put on triple width tires and the ride is so much better by far.
