Touchless car wash

Any early Mach E owners that have hands free lift gate use a touch less car wash? I’m always worried about it getting a false signal to open during a wash.

I can only report that mine does not open when I spray it down or wash under the rear bumper. Since I wash using my paws, I touch more. ??

I have only hand washed my car since new and have had the lift gate open a couple of occasions with the wand spraying in the area.

My first MME was a 21 GT, and it did pop open when I was spraying it down the first time, so I turned it off, never turned it back on (mainly because I looked like an idiot trying to kick it open ?)

Mine does not open in the car wash. But I leave mine in drive while I sit there.

Sorry I have no advice on this. I am using either a coin op and spray down use my own mitts or do it at home with soap buckets and mits.

Never, ever had a problem with my '21 and I washed it at touchless car washes almost always. Always in N since I don't use Auto Hold (otherwise, L). I would love to get the kick to open tailgate back on my '24.

I've had no issues with the lift gate opening when I've used a touchless. I did get a lot of water in the liftgate channels though. When I opened the liftgate a couple of days after the wash, more than a fair amount of water came out! There was no water inside the car though.

Mine is a 21 and is washed weekly in a car wash. I have never had the liftgate open during the wash.

Mine does not open in the car wash. But I leave mine in drive while I sit there.

I have used one once a month for 2 years and have never had a problem.

Related to this, has anyone had issues with the charge port cover opening in a wash? I had it happen to me once, and since then I ask the car wash to tape it shut when they have tape.

Never had a problem with it opening in a car wash. In fact, the damn thing only opens about once out of every thousand times I try to use it anyway, so out of self respect (I don't like looking like a fool repeatedly kicking at nothing under the rear of the car) I don't even bother to try it anymore.
