I’ve been getting the front camera fault message the past couple months. It will pop up, then clear itself in a few minutes.

With that, I started paying close attention to the environment when it happens. There were certain places on the roads that I travel often that were triggering it.

Finally I noticed a clear trend. I’m getting this camera Fault message when my Mach-e travels from dark asphalt into brighter concrete surface. Examples are Bridges or general changes in the surface type (asphalt to concrete).

Posting here to see if anyone else notices this?

A co-worker of mine experienced very similar issues. A local dealer had his Mach-E for 5 weeks and couldn't diagnose the problem until an actual Ford engineer took it for a drive while it was plugged in.

Apparently, in his case, an OTA update didn't complete successfully and the module was missing VIN information in a couple of areas of the program. The engineer re-installed the OTAs and applied all other available updates and he's had his car back for about a week with no issues.

I don't think its the color of the pavement, I think its the seam 'bump' rattling a loose connection.

anybody know how to pull that black cover off without breaking clips or anything else?
