Another small topic. Looking out the back window. You have a backup camera so you don't need to but still, sometimes I find myself looking out the back. Plenty of glass in the back to see out of for me.
The model Y is really bad and you can't look out the back. My wife it was a little hard to see out the back since she is 5'3 but the model y when she drove it nothing could not see.
Just another little point I like to point out.
Also, I played around in that parking lot for about 5 good minutes trying to see how the tires did. They held up great and no edging of the sides that I was worried about.
The styrofoam insert that holds your charging cables for the car is held in by two small plastic pieces. Not very strong. Also, the insert is very light and really a ho-hum part of the car. No need to really put money into that part, but also don't be upset when it seems like it came from your amazon packaging last night lol.
The gas pedal is not big and has a higher positioning than my MKX. When you are all the way back a few times I felt myself just getting a small part of the gas pedal so I moved the seat up for a better feel. Back and forth testing brake to gas, gas to brake seems really good.
The tesla model Y seemed wider for me. Some people might not think this something to worry about. But I want to not have my legs not feeling good on a long stop and go drive. So I like the mache on that.
The seating. After a good hour of driving, I found myself going lower and lower. Looking out the front window of the mache and seeing the humps in the hood, well for me is a great feeling. The mache seats seat up high enough and really the lower they are when you try to get in the easier it will be. Mark that down in your notes. Trust me on that.
For regen braking, Just get used to being light on your toes with the gas pedal. You're going to get to points where your almost all the way out of the gas and feel the regen getting ready to kick in but wait for just a second longer with your release and your start timing your stops perfectly.
If you ever when ATV riding and tried to do some whole shots you know how you have to feather the throttle and catch it just right not to look like a fool lol. Kinda the same concept.
I even sometimes found myself sitting crossed-legged when not using the brake and I was trying it out for our good friend mache vlogs wife as I know she will have to drive with her left foot. I found it to be easy and plenty of room in the mache for that.
The smaller the person you are the less the sides of the seats will grab you. It was a 2 and half hour trip to get the mache, drove it for 4 hours, then drove back home 3 hours. So yesterday was almost 10 hours of driving and the mache seats are great. One of my fav parts of the mache is the seats.
The dial to use to go from park to drive and so on. Yes, it will spin all the way around. Why? I don't know but it does. You can see if your in park, reverse or drive on the screen in front but I kept finding myself looking down just to make sure. Why? kinda an oh be safe thing, maybe but I don't like it when backing out. Then look down now in drive, is it in the right spot ok let's go now I have to force myself to look at it on the screen.
The more I tried different driving styles the more I got a feeling with the mache. The driving with both hands on the wheel all the way up to granny driving. The layback rocking the bass one hand on the wheel driving. The I been in this car for 5 hours resting my one arm on the arm rest and the switching and the other arm on the door.
The more I tested it and the middle armrest the more it seems it's not as bad not being forward enough but it sits kinda low for me. So the more you have the seats up you're going to get the feeling your leaning sideways sitting to get your arm comfortable to use that armrest in the middle. I think ford made that piece too short and it does not fit for all.
The knee middle screen is a none issue. You have to be all the way up to granny-style with giraffe legs for that to be an issue. I fingered that screen all over. tested it with some grease and food on fingers to see if we would have some missed touches or problems from fingerprints. Worked great not a problem at all. Easy to clean.
The info center has a lot to it and at times I found myself trying to remember where to go to get to certain parts I needed to. Not that it was bad are hard, but I hope for some kinda a favorites mode so I can put things where I want.
The heating and cooling took me a long time to figure out. At first, the windows would start fogging up but leaving the heat on was too hot for me so I would turn on max defrost and push to turn off. A few seconds later it would kick back on and I would be like wtf. They have to hit fan turn 1 down then push off. After a while, I found out how to use it and it was not that bad. The heat is very quick and was no wait.
Later we just went with the heated seats on and not using the heater at all. It kept us both feeling warm.
The floor mats that ford sells are nice.
Pleased with them. Did not have a problem with heat from the roof but the angle the mache seats and the windows yes I will have to tent those. The glare coming in and the heat was very noticeable.
Overall my wife loved the car and her fav part was simply being able to see the front of the car again and not like or MKX which you can't see. Why well it makes it easier for her when parking and backing out and judging turns.
He was a big fan of the steering wheel and also how tremendously quiet the mache is. It was like being on a first date and the awkward silence when you're both sitting there with nothing to say, so you take a sip of your coca-cola she said lmao.
I have two kids and she kept pointing out how much they are going to love sitting in the back seats. For kids, there is so much room back there and the glass roof is awesome. She sits back there for some time while I drove to see what it was like and she loved it.
Overall mache is a sound vehicle and I don't think any of you will be let down.
