Got the car back today. Dealership couldn’t reproduce the issue. I’m not surprised and I’m not faulting them either. This is a very hard to reproduce consistently problem.

what they did tell me is TSB 25-2106 which was applied a week ago updated a lot of modules. It updated the modules I listed above, but they confirmed it also updates the APIM, GWM, and others related to SYNC and the HVAC too. So it seems 25-2106 supersedes 25-2049. So my car is fully up to date for all modules. I do see in my update history that update 10.1.1 was recently installed.

Thank you. This is the kind of information I was looking for.

as an update for everyone, my audio issues returned this morning. After working nearly flawlessly for a week, this morning I had no audio from CarPlay, not even for a phone call. The person I called could hear me, but I couldn’t hear anything. Rebooted SYNC and everything worked after that. I’ve booked the car in for another appointment tomorrow this time hopefully to get TSB 25-2049.
**EDIT**
Sorry, replied before I saw your latest post...

Don't hold your breath - I had the TSB applied and it did not fix the "no sound" issues. I've been keeping track of them so when I go back to the dealer I have "evidence".

The TSB in my work order was noted as 25-2049A for what it's worth.

I just had my 23 Premium Extended AWD in the shop. I have about 1 in every 6 starts where I either have no audio over CarPlay or the SYNC system will lockup. I didn’t mention anything about a TSB or doing updates, just the issues I was experiencing. I just got the car back and my paperwork shows “Verified customer concern, found applicable TSB 25-2106. Reprogrammed PCM, SOBDMB, SOBDMC, SOBDM, BECM, and ABS modules per TSB”.

Forgive me for being new here, but searching didn’t turn up any previous posts for this TSB. I found the other one (25-2049) from a few weeks ago for similar SYNC and CarPlay issues which I thought I would be getting. Is the one my dealership applied today an updated revision of the other TSB or a completely new one?

I haven’t driven anywhere yet (dealership dropped car off at my house), so I can’t verify the work, nor can I check for any differences.
Just got the fix applied to my 2022 MME by the dealership. Apparently, it takes 4.63 hours to apply the update which also wipes out all your settings.

The module updates in the OP arnt related to the sync issue. I FDRS’d them onto my wagon yesterday. If anything it’s the clearing of all the DTC’s and probably rebooting of modules that resolved (most likely temporarily) it, if at all.

The TSB, at least for me, is dumb. It’s ’let them come, apply anything that might be sitting out there, give them a paper of applied acronyms, send them away, deal with them next month’.

The ‘master reset’ is even worse as it’s just going to annoy you to set up all the crap again for it to crap out after. I’ve reset my car 4 times I think. Hasn’t fixed anything, just reset everything. They’re throwing this tSB out there to look like they’re being proactive so the internets think they’re doing something. Better to look like you’re doing something than sit back at try to sell a new car as a fix.

The frequency of the CarPlay no audio issues went down after this TSB was applied for me. I went from maybe 3-4 times a week experiencing issues to maybe 1 time a week. Furthermore, after iOS 18.4 and 18.5 were released, the frequency has dropped even more. In fact I have not experience an issue since iOS 18.5 was released and installed.

I did not lose any settings or have them reset to defaults with these updates either.

Yeah, this issue has been an absolute maddening experience. I’ll be in the middle of business calls, and the whole console will simply reboot. Take a look at my invoice. I didn’t have to incur any charges, but it looks like it might’ve cost me $1000 for the software fix if my car was out of warranty?

Hopefully this will help folks, but I find a dramatic reduction in the chance of getting the no-audio issue if I do NOT put it into reverse or drive after starting the car. Just take a few seconds to wait.

I suspect the issue is related to lag between the car doing the backup cameras and synchronizing carplay. Just let it have the CPU for a few seconds before shifting.

Every time I get it, it will be because I forgot to do this.

Brother, you were spot on. The CarPlay issue is not only NOT fixed, it’s actually worse than it was before I brought it to the dealership.

They wiped all of my settings, gave me back a dirty car, and made the issue worse.

I’m going to give Bob Rohrman Ford in Schaumburg one star on Yelp!
